It just looked like TK was trying to shrug off Rust and the elbow got him. Then Rust went ballistic and drove TKs head into the ice… without a helmet. And refused to fight after all that. Classic Pittsburgh.
Rust was stepping on TK's leg with his skate and pinning him when he was above him.
Ref was right there and noticed when TK reacted and tried to leg whip him.
Why Rust got the extra. Skate with weight isn't just scummy, it's dangerous.
Hence the kick and TK wanting to throw(chirper, not a fighter that's not his MO).

Disclosure – I'm a Pens fan.
Officiating has been horrible all series and they seem to have zero clue how to reel things in, but it's not making the difference. This Pens team is flat and looks hesitant to get their legs moving. The Flyers are succeeding in turning it into a defensive game, but the Pens defense is subpar and can't handle extended zone entries. The team in general also lacks players with a combination of size and speed. Fast guys are small and can't hold up, bigger guys are too slow or too old.
They're still scumbags but the age of the Pens team is showing.

Straight garbage take on the Konecny/Rust incident. Rust was hitting Konecny when he was down and had a ref in the way…not to mention Rust ripping Konecny's helmet off….maybe you should've shown the full replay of the incident. Rust obviously deserved more. Konecny was only "kicking" because it was his only option at that point, he wasn't even really kicking, he was trying to trip Rust. You and Pens fans make it sound like Konecny was trying to cut Rust with his blade…he was clearly trying to avoid that while defending himself. Watch the actual replays. Totally chickenshit for Rust to skate away when Konecny challenged him to fight to boot.
