So you’re looking for a GM at the same time as a POHO; are they running each GM candidate by Gillis before even hiring Gillis or the potential POHO, since hiring a GM is the POHO’s job?
Does Gillis get like some sort of consultancy fee if the Leafs decide to go with his pick for GM but opt not to even hire him as a POHO?
If they only come out of this with a POHO, does that mean that POHO(Gillis) doesn’t like any of these GM candidates?
If so, why hasn’t he mentioned this in his own interview with MLSE for the president role?

I don’t know why people are upset about the updates. We want due diligence. They rushed into Treliving last time, and that appeared to be a preemptive decision made before Dubas was canned.
It’s now been almost 4 weeks since Treliving was canned. We have been making ample use of time to make a decision about the best path forward.
Whether they make the right decision will rightfully be debated, but we cannot fault the process at this time unless something else comes out suggesting they are slow walking the process because they already made a decision weeks ago.
