used to be a Sens fan, but really haven't found reason to cheer for them during this Tkachuk era
Honestly both teams are playing good, solid defensive hockey and both goalies are playing well, the Canes have just snuck in a few more goals. As a Canes fan this feels very similar to the Panthers-Canes series a few years ago, the "that wasn't a sweep" series but in Carolina's favor this time.
Note to any Isles fans who are feeling super optimistic rn: DeBoer had benched Stankoven before the trade
Tkachuk feels completely absent in these games. No presence. Tim is, you can clearly see his effort. Chabot is, look at that machine. Why does Anderson get full vision of all the shots with no tips?
And here I am as a Sens fan thinking we had 2017 run potential this year. Holy f*ck was I wrong. Haven't even lead once yet in the series. Get your brooms out canes fans, the fat lady is already through the first verse.
With how these playoffs are shaking out this year, if this isn't finally Carolinas year to get passed the conference finals then they'll never do it
Sens were supposed to have upper hand physically and they don't . Pinto was presented by experts as shut down defrnsive forward of the year. Hes -3 abd had 1 shot yeterday. Other then Ullmark this team is average at best.
Freddy Andersen is a monster 😮
Sens are a year away. Great season overall.
If you can't score 5-3 you can't win.
After a 2OT game Monday and 2 days rest, the Hurricsnes looked gassed and half asleep the whole game
Brady Tkachuk – Not even a bridesmaid!
(I’m neither Canadian nor an Oilers fan lol)
From a distance 5 hits being written on the board looks like somethings else. lol
The one thing I'd say about this game that should bother the Hurricanes is that they looked kinda tired, they have played a high energy game all season, is it getting to them? I've got nothing against them, I just didn't really get the same impression of intensity as I've had earlier in the year. Ottawa is really gonna need to dig deep to make anything of this series and I'm full of doubt they've got that in them so no fear there, this series will be done soon. BUT as I said for Hurricanes future adventures in this Stanley cup, this game has me a bit concerned about how much is left in the batteries/tank of the guys.
It wasn't the high hit that took Sanderson out of the game it was the open handed blocked shot off the inner part of his hand where there is no padding on the glove. When he blocked that shot he left the game almost immediately after and didn't return.
The power play always awful, fundamentally forgot how to play hockey. Being down the top D pair is impossible to overcome, the backend is just too beat up. The forwards on the other hand….
What about the segment where it took like 10 seconds for the Sens ti get an extra man out when they pulled their goalie? This is the 2nd time this has happened in the playoffs this year
This series has really exposed that Ottawa is a team of playmakers with no finishers.
Kinda makes it feel worse that Ottawa made this run to get in only to completely disappear. Thought they could make this a series.
As a Sabres fan, I was more worried about facing Ottawa than Boston, but I was definitely wrong. Ottawa looks lost offensively and overwhelmed, which is certainly not how Boston has looked in their series with Buffalo.
Sens powerplay has completely fell apart. Tkachuk has been terrible this series. Halls head hit on Sanderson should have been a 5 minute major
Hurricanes are winning games despite the top line doing nothing.
As an Ottawa fan wtf was this game. 1 scoring chance in 3 periods terrible passing no chemistry ik the defense if hurt but wtf is the offense doing
Re Sanderson: Hall was going for a shoulder check on him, but Sanderson changed his route and the collision became a hit to the head. Hall is not a dirty player and did not argue the call, though he could have. Sanderson later on blocked a shot with an open hand and while he was on the 5 on 3 PP opportunity, he pulled himself off and I to the locker room. Kevin Bieksa opinions that the likely reason for him not returning was the shot to the hand as a 5 on 3 PP doesn't have contact and a player can push through that. Coach Green after that game being all fire and brimstone about the hit, forgets that his team did get a power play from that. There was no intent to injure, Hall didn't go out of his way to hit the head. It is unfortunate that it became a circus as the media picked up on the words to do what? Save some face? Get Hall suspended? Whatever the reason, I hope that Sanderson recovers quickly.
Let's go Canes!
Mighty Mouse bowling over two Sens in the crease… 🤣 …I'm tellin' ya. Trading away Rantanen and his primadonna BS and getting Stankoven was a stroke of pure luck (I think it was more accident than brilliance on Tulsky's part). I don't even care about tit-for-tat stats. Watching Stank is far more fun and soul satisfying…I too feel bad for Ullmark. Andersen has behaved himself. Two thumbs up. Let's see if it sticks…
Ottawa looked entirely bush league out there last night… were they hungover? Because it was a complete 180 compared game 2 where they played with the most heart and fire I’ve seen
Sanderson took a puck to the hand and left. He played a while after Hall hit him
Both PPs have been trash this series.
Dang Carrier and Amadio both had the shits 9:35
LOL. I thought the board said something else about what Amadio & Carrier did…!
The loudest fan in that building last night was the Ottawa organ player. For the love of all thats holy, please keep the volume down on that thing. Blew my ears out all night.
Sens had 8 players on the ice and still had no room. LOL
Sanderson left the game a few shifts after that hit. He was okay enough to punch Hall in the back of the head (not called). He also took a puck off of the hand. He left after that.
The thumb elbowed Martinook in the head away from the play. It was intentional.
Jalen Chatfield has been Slavin 2.0 in this series.
Terrible time to be a sens fans
Am I the only one who read 5 hits as something else?
I’m a canes fan and im honestly confused about what Brady Tkachuk is trying to do in this series. It feels like he’s more focused on playing the enforcer role than actually making a meaningful impact on the games.
Watching him, it almost seems like he saw the way Matthew was able to get under our skin and assumed he could replicate that same effect. The difference is, we’ve already learned that lesson. At this point, we’re disciplined enough not to let that kind of stuff take us out of our game.
If anything, it looks like it’s having the opposite effect. Because it’s not working, it feels like it’s starting to impact his own focus and overall play more than it’s affecting anyone else.
It makes me question why he is the captain of the team
As a Canes fan, trust me when I say we TOTALLY understand what happens when your PP takes a vacation in the playoffs. You go home.
When your team has the best goaltending in all of the playoffs and still can't win, you're done.
I thought that said Carrier Shits
Logan Stankoven is possessed with something. He'd be one of the Hurricanes top scorers by goals if he didn't have horrific puck luck the former half of the year.
may i just say both teams looked tired from the marathon that was game 2
Teams struggle to get the coveted wild card playoff entry, only to usually discover it's only an invite to their own funeral.
this is probably the best team canes will have in years. let’s win a cup maybe
Tkchuck is getting exposed in this series
Sanderson came off after taking a slapshot to the hand. Please go look the sens coach is crying so hard over it. Dude threw 2 punches after the hit (no call btw) and play in the 5v3 after
