Darche needs to recoup a 2nd and 3rd round pick in this Draft, I have to think a Team may give up a 3rd for Shabanov , When You list the trades and signings Darche did in Year 1 He as a whole was well below average, Aced the Draft and Holmstrom signing and pretty much everything else was terrible and showed no clear forward looking strategy to do what the Islanders should have been doing, Building a young core around Schaeffer . You do not give up Draft picks to bring in useless Vets like Soucy and Palat and Schenn who cost a 1st which on those grounds alone in the spot the Islanders are was to Me a fireable offense

Darche's argument with Pageau was that the C market was very thin. I really have no idea what the plan is for the forward group, but I am hoping there is one because we know you can't run back this group and make the playoffs. They showed us that this year, which is why if ownership forced his hands to make the Schenn trade, then you have to go back to ownership and say that this forward group needs a shakeup.
