Gillis was Aquialini's Whipping Boy. It's a Mistake to say he wants complete control after his Vancouver experience, does he really think that's going to happen in Toronto? There's a reason why no other team has hired him since he left Vancouver in 2014.
Interesting that he filed two tampering charges against the Leafs in 2009 and now he wants to be President of the Leafs with full control.
I have cheered for the Maple Leafs for years. I'm 80 years old and this is no surprise to me why they don't win Stanley cups. It's because their head off is is a bunch of dreamers. They haven't got a clue what they're doing and all he want to do is make money. They don't care about winning or losing. It's all about the dollar and Kelly or whatever his name. They're your leader of that whole bunch. I listen to him speak. He's not a very smart man at all. How in the hell is he running that ship? Where did he get his power from Trudeau cuz he looks like Trudeau and he thinks like Trudeau my God. When is this organization with all the money in the world going to wake up?

Far too many rumuors beng tossed around, and the worst of it is that fans dont really know these candidate GMs, for the most part they're just names being thrown around,. Almost everyone named are assistant GMs….i dont know what a assistant does, make the coffee?….And when someone is finaly hired the media will proclaim its a great choice without actualy knowing if it is or isnt…The whole thing is a bad soap opera.
Whoever it is it doesn't matter….this team will be crap for the next decade
Pelley is royally screwing up this GM search. I don’t trust him at all. Why in the world would he be rejecting candidates from successful teams and leaning towards a candidate from a bottom feeder? Makes no sense.
Of course, no one knows what is happening. People who work inside organizations do not leak information to outsiders, even self proclaimed “hockey insiders.” EF is a hockey speculator, not a hockey insider. A sensible person would wait until a decision is made, but the voracious monster that is social media is perpetually starved for speculative tidbits…
I may start receiving my pension before the Leafs choose their new GM. lol
this whole search is turning into a joke, pelley knows nothing about hockey, so he shouldnt be doing anything with the leafs front office at all nothing nada.why wouldnt they just hire Pridham over any of these first time GM'S, he has been around for years and knows this organization better than anybody thier interviewing.im sure he would make a good GM.Pelley stay the hell out.

Honestly wouldn't mind Chayka. Did well in Arizona the first few years, ran into a dumb owner and major financial constraints. One thing he is NOT is stagnant. He made a LOT of moves, basically the opposite of Tre who just sat on his hands.
The main reason the Buds haven’t won it all is meddling ownership/executives.If Pelley is involved in day to day operations,I’m out.👎

One thing that you can usually bet on is this organization will find a way to screw this up. Want proof this has been going on for sixty years now. Besides any GM worth their salt wouldn't take a job that they didn't have total control of. That's exactly why they will hire a couple of yes men or just one yes man. That's why this organization is looked at as the joke of the NHL. They said that an assistant GM of the Bruins is the guy that's on his way. No he's not why would he come here with A.I. calling the shot's. I don't know why they'd even want or need a GM since it's A.I. that's going to run the show. You watch it's going to be a nobody you've never heard of to be the Leaf's front man for their A.I. I gave up on this team last year after 65yrs of supporting this organization. The only thing I can say at least I've seen this team Hoist the Stanley Cup four times not many Leaf fan's left that can say that. I don't even think that the Leaf's name is on the Cup anymore. It's crazy when you think that the Leaf's were considered a dynasty twice in the forties and sixties when they won the Stanley Cup four times, three in a row and the last one in 1967. Since then there hasn't been much to cheer about. A run in the nineties and this 9yr run if that's what you want to call it. When the hometown boy left so did I, at least the Knights are in the playoffs. You won't see the Leaf's back in the playoffs for year's to come you can take that to the bank. This is the way it's been since forever. When ticket sales drop, when TV ratings fall off the cliff and merchandise sales become almost non-existent then you'll see change. That's been the issue with this team since Ballard was the first owner that only cared about the bottom line and it hasn't changed to present day. They know no matter how much they stink the fan's will fill the arena and buy merchandise. They are making tons of money why do anything for change.
