1. I don't feel bad for Sens fans… Most were classless and calling for bad things to happen that do nothing with hockey. Let them suffer

  2. I guess my criticism helped. The Canes did better on empty net goals after I said even the girls in the PWHL can get one

  3. Fitst thing you do is try and convince another GM that brady is a superstar and try and fleece someone on a deal…him and his brother both, arnt all that.

  4. theres chatter going around about the Rangers going after tkuchuk……..LET HIM STAY IN OTTAWA!!! I DONT WANT HIM!!

  5. I wanted to give the sens your flowers Ullmark stood on his head. You guys played really, really good defense. The puck luck wasn’t there. I’ve seen the chances in the posts you guys had. Trust me we’ve been there Ik it hurts . It reminded me of the Florida series back in 24. You played your hardest and then you just couldn’t really get anything. But from experience, I know you guys will be back. You have a great team you’re young and I’m sure we will see you guys again. Keep your head up.💐 – a caniac

  6. As an American I watch all four games, if you decide to get rid of your coach, you will have to wait years again to get into the playoffs. In this situation, the better team just had more luck. You guys were dead even. Keep this team, and you WILL get the cup soon. One of the best teams I've seen.

  7. I think that the series is so disappointing from a competitive standpoint not necessarily from just pure skill but they made too many mental mistakes to give themselves any chance to win,Granted that Carolina was the top seed in the East and Metropolitan Division Champions,I don't think that the players were not applying the lessons they learned from one year ago versus the Maple Leafs. The special teams was a disaster going 1for22 on the power play,0for4 with a two man advantage for over seven minutes total, every one of their forwards having poor plus/minus numbers, could not get enough pucks to the net careless puck handling that led to giveaways in all three levels of the ice, they could win enough face offs, possession of the puck wasn't often enough to gain momentum,Carolina did a tremendous job of dominating the puck battles along the boards, blocking shots, and clearing the slot areas around Andersen so he can make the timely saves. How they allow themselves to get swept when you number one goaltender has a .933 save percentage and allow only 1.94 goals against average and still get swept in a four game series. This defeat will have to have some long term effects on everyone that is connected to the Ottawa Senators organization because they have to have some real hard questions about the lack of leadership. The rumors will starting to circulate in Canadian capital about trading of certain players.😢😢😢😢😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉

  8. The April 2026 sweep of the Senators by the Canes brings up an interesting question: in how many post-1989 pre-2026 NHL postseasons, with the first full decade of the best-of-seven playoff format, barring the 2020 bubble postseason, have Canadian such teams been swept, with:
    – any postseason that did not feature a sweep of a Canadian team by another NHL team indicated with a *
    – the postseason of:
    — 1990*, 1991*
    — 1992 featured respective sweeps of the Habs and Oilers by the Bruins and Blackhawks in division and conference finals
    — 1993*, 1994*
    — 1995 featured a sweep of the Canucks by the Blackhawks in a conference semifinal
    — 1996 featured a sweep of the Calgary Flames by the Blackhawks in a conference quarterfinal
    — 1997*
    — 1998 featured a sweep of the Habs by the Sabres in a conference semifinal
    — 1999 featured respective sweeps of the Sens and Oilers by the Sabres and Dallas Stars
    — 2000*
    — 2001 featured respective sweeps of the Sens and Canucks by the Leafs and Avs
    — 2002*, 2003*
    — 2004 featured a sweep of the Habs by the Bolts
    — 2006* (no 2005 postseason due to the 2004-05 NHL lockout), 2007*
    — 2008 featured a sweep of the Sens by the Penguins in a conference quarterfinal
    — 2009 featured a sweep of the Habs by the Bruins
    — 2010*, 2011*, 2012*
    — 2013 featured a sweep of the Canucks by the Sharks
    — 2014*
    — 2015 featured a sweep of the Jets by the Ducks in a conference quarterfinal
    — 2016* (no Canadian team qualified for that postseason)
    — 2017 featured a sweep of the Flames by the Ducks in a conference quarterfinal
    — 2018*, 2019*, 2020*
    — 2021 featured respective sweeps of the Oilers and Jets by the Jets and Habs
    — 2022 featured a sweep of the Oilers by the Avs
    — 2023*, 2024*, 2025*

The last pre-2026 postseason to feature a sweep of an Eastern Canadian team was that of 2009, with this postseason the 17th since then to feature a substance sweep of an eastern Canadian team. It’s possible a 2026 conference semifinal, conference final or Stanley Cup final will feature a sweep of a Canadian team, but only if such a team makes it that far. That the Sens were been swept in a conference quarterfinal leaves the Habs and Oilers as the only remaining Canadian teams in this NHL postseason, with each series scheduled to last at least two more games each.

So-called “backdoor sweeps,“ which the Winnipeg Jets were recipients of during the postseasons of 2023 and 2024, have not been unheard of in Stanley Cup playoff series, with it quite possible the Oilers, having beaten the Ducks in the opening game of that 2026 conference quarterfinal, possibly to become a recipient of a backdoor sweep, with the Ducks‘ having won the last two games.

The Habs, meanwhile, have a 2–1 series lead over the Bolts on the backs of strong defensive play, just enough scoring and relatively good performances by goalie Jakub Dobeš. In that Eastern Conference quarterfinal the Habs have outscored the Bolts 9–8.

The Ducks-Oilers series hasn’t featured exactly great goaltending from Lukáš Dostal of the Ducks or Connor Ingram of the Oilers. That said, as much as Ingram has allowed his share of ugly goals, defensive awareness has just been so bad, with the Ducks‘ having outscored the Oilers, in that series, wait for it, 16–12. The fourth game of that series has a Sportsnet broadcast start time of 9.30 p.m. EDT Sunday. As much as I would like to believe the Oilers will beat the Ducks in that playoff series, I have serious doubts as to whether that will happen unless the Oilers win that upcoming game. With the Sens eliminated, it is for me, during what remains of this NHL postseason, go Oilers go.
