nba vs nhl comparisons are always foolish from many angles: 5 players vs 20, the way the salary cap is handled where nba guys make a fixed rate depeding on their all star status or wtf, no trade contracts for even C level guys in the nhl. what happenes if you do manage to get 2 mvps on a team? you don't have a goalie. the only team to pull it off is tampa because they convinced the guys to sit on an internal cap of 9.5M…the savings they had for lower players in the roster over the leafs was like 20M. it's crazy the leafs beat em once and with samsonov in net.

mcdavid has a history of showing up when it matters most?? 2 years ago he vanished in g6/g7 in the finals, last year he didnt even show up in the finals and this year he cost canada the gold medal game in overtime against the states…. add to that he hasnt done much this series and is on the verge of losing in the first round…
he has actually been BAD when it matters most…. at this point marner has a better "clutch" reputation than mcdavid, lol
