Malkin a rencontré les médias vendredi alors que les Penguins terminaient leur saison après avoir subi une défaite en six matchs contre les Flyers de Philadelphie mercredi soir. Compte tenu de son statut légendaire au sein du club et de l’absence de contrat pour la saison prochaine, son avenir incertain était un grand sujet de discussion.
« C’est difficile à dire pour le moment, mais nous avons le temps », a déclaré Malkin. « Vous savez, c’est un long été, et je fais juste la même routine. Je retourne en Russie, je reste avec ma famille, mes amis, et nous voyons ce qui se passe. He’ll re-sign with the Pens. He’s talking one year and they have tons of cap space — and Crosby wants him back. They’ll come to some moderate priced one year deal.

Again, this is from RMNB. So take it with a massive grain of salt. Nothing about Malkin’s media availability suggests he’s even considering signing with Washington, or any other team.
It would be a really fun storyline, though.
