  1. Comparables would be the Mcsorley or Ciccarelli incidents. It *should* be a double digit suspension – but I don’t think DoPS has the balls to do it.

Are we not penalizing slee foot anymore? No way justifying trying to decapitate someone and Mac deserves a stiff penalty. But give benson something

Anytime you swing your stick, your SOL, that’s the one thing player safety does take seriously

  4. punkdrummer22

Nooooooo. Only cause I have him in my fantasy pool

  5. If the league really wants to put an end to this crap..

    1. Make the fines high enough to matter to the players. A $2500 fine to a guy making millions isn’t enough.

    2. More suspensions.

    3. To get teams/coaches to pay attention and discourage this behavior; the team should have to play with a shortened bench while said player is suspended. Make it hurt the team and they’ll purge it from the organization.

Pietrangelo got 1 game for trying to chop Draisaitl’s arm off after the play with a two hander because the DPOS is dogshit and the NHL doesn’t protect their players.

Oh, and McAvoy deserves a lengthy suspension for that reckless swing. Spin the wheel, Parody

I think it’s pretty ridiculous what happened to McAvoy (and after the season he has had with injury) and Benson should be getting a suspension too. McAvoy would never have reacted like that is Benson hadn’t taken his legs out from him. And I don’t like Boston as a team. I actively root against them.

McAvoy is a garbage human being. He should get a minimum of 10 games.

Why do they say “offered” an in person hearing? If you say nah and do it over the phone do you get max or something?

Hextall got 8 for slashing behind the knee. This should absolutely be double digits.

I would say it’s probably 8-10. Maybe 8, since there are only 4 preseason games next year. The NHL has the opportunity to make the suspension look harsher without really punishing McAvoy too much, which is good because they probably don’t want it to go through appeal. The slew foot would be a mitigating factor, and I doubt the league would want to open that can of worms as it could set a precedent and at least a minor headache.

No matter what DOPS has set a precedent to fuck it all up.
