  1. People can say all they want about Gretzky but , he was absolutely mind blowing to have watched him play to the point of unbelievable !

  2. McDavid said it all and to me is a true leader. “We were an average team all year and an average team with high expectations is bound for disappointment.”

Honesty and accountability, I don’t know how anyone could say anything bad about this guy.

  3. If the Oilers were healthier they would have been better able to complete.
    Upgrade the goaltending.
    Upgrade the defensemen.
    Upgrade team grit.

  4. I’d be so disappointed with this post season if I was an Oilers fan, also extremely nervous for this upcoming season to make something happen or their generational talent is gone and their at square one in the rebuild again.

  5. Winning the Cup is worth keeping a bad coach around, but this team wasn't going to go the distance this year. So an early exit to heal up and make changes is an ok result. IF the team takes advantage of it

  6. Zéro surprise this season. I knew we were in trouble within the first 12 games. New coach(s), top goalie, D man trade, 2 top 6 proven speedy wingers (trade), Howard call up. Ingram back up. Jarry traded away. What am I missing?

  7. I have a few ideas going into next year. I think bringing in a new head coach should be at the top of the list. I didn’t agree with you with firing knoblaunch in the regular season because he did get us the back to back Stanley cups. I think you deserve to let it play out throughout this year and see how playoffs go. With that said, I think Cassidy should be our number one guy to hire. For nurse, he has a full no trade clause, so I’d wonder if he would be willing to waive. If he did, I got one name one for one swap that could maybe make some sense. Skjei from Nashville paid $7 million a year. He’s two years older than nurse but we would free up over 2 million dollars, right there. I also believe taking McDavid off the penalty kill is something that we should do. We’ve seen it in previous years that when both him and Drai are not on the penalty kill you could load up the next line with Hyman with those two. I’d love to bring Kapanen and Dickinson Murphy and Ingram back. With that being said, I do believe that we should have a third line centre that could go out there and produce more. I like Jenner for that role. Of course he’s already 32 years old and has had some injuries in the past. With that being said, he penalty kill he could be a front guy on the second power-play or if Hyman gets hurt like he did the last two years you have a guy like him net front.

  9. Sup there, Austin. Good coverage in this segment. Here's hoping Knobhead is gone this summer.

I don't dislike the person, and hopefully he lands somewhere else, keeping himself in the NHL, I just don't want him here anymore.

That being said, I think Frederic is already up for "turnaround player of the season" for 26/27, if they get a proper coach. I never disliked Frederic the person either, and there is still a solid player there under the suppression this coaching staff put him under.

New voice, some rest, and well, I'm a bit more hopeful for next season than I was just a few days ago.

I mean, I don't wanna rag on Knoblauch "too" much either. It's easy to forget, this was merely his third season as head coach in the NHL. The guy still has lots to learn, no doubt.

Leon is always the best guy to go to for candid responses too. That guy is not afraid to share his opinion and thoughts, and well, that's part of what makes him such a fan favourite.

Have a good one there in the meantime, Austin. Catto is awesome. 🐱🍻

  10. I at first was very disappointed they lost, but I'm glad they lost early with the injuries they have, because it can't be good to push through with things like a fracture, that needs to be able to heal properly to not have issues long term.

I went into pay the playoffs on nhl25 with 2026 trade deadline rosters, so far only playing as oilers, Sens, Habs, and penguins.

I'm 2-2 in the oilers series currently, I usually play on semi pro with some pro but on pro, and yes it was a difficult first 3 games against the ducks, got steam rolled game 2. 😂
Kinda a coping mechanism but also just for fun

I liked Drais interview, basically saying what a lot of us think.
I want them to get Bruce Cassidy

  11. We can get rid of Henrique, Lazar, Jones, Stastney and Roslovic to free up a little bit of money around $8 million. Trim out as many excess AHL players as we can. Sign Dickinson, Dach, Kapanen. Sign Murphy but only if it's a good price. With the increased cap space I want us to target at least 3 solid stay at home defencemen. I do not want to see us overpay for yet another mediocre to average goalie. We're already stuck paying Campbell and Jarry. I prefer shoring up the defense rather than blowing too much money on another goalie. Ingram can return but only if it's $2 million or less. If he wants more money then we don't sign him. I really wish Bowman were more frugal with the cap money and tried harder to stop the waste and stop the bleeding.
