I wish I could help the coaching staff. I feel ive washed enough hockey and enough players to see in the moment changing patterns and how to teach the players to key into those on the fly changes. Maybe in another life.
You vets need the people in the higher positions to provide quality youth to accompany you in the chase for the cup. The ducks proved this…… Yes you are the captains but you need a core of younger guys with speed and talent to keep the momentum going while you're resting…. The cup will come to Edmonton…. Last year we lost 3 quality players for sure and didn't break even in the returns

Compare this guy speaking to the media with Crosby and you can tell McDavid was not meant to be a captain or team leader as Crosby. Remove the C from him and free him from that. He should never have gotten the C in the first place.

He brings up great points that seem to reveal the reason the Oilers were not great but mid this year. 1. Load management and p)ayer development 2. Taking care of those things will bring motivation and energy 3. With those, you get intensity. It almost feels like this season was more about hitting a wall that needed to be hit, before they (as an organization) can find the thing that's needed to break through and refuse everything as acceptable except for winning. They should absolutely not have any patience right now for anything but commitment to winning.
Get away from hockey!! Have fun!! Team is burnt out!! Shorten the season for the core guys!! Bring up rookies and farm players to get experience!

Bowman delivered an upgrade on goalies. Brought in defensive players and muscle!! Bowman did a great job bringing in as many players as he did!! He got what was available! Would’ve been great to bring in an all star goalie, a top 5 enforcer, a Marchand and Tkachuk type players.. but they weren’t available!!
It’s hard to watch how he’s really holding himself together, trying not to explode in the face of these superficial questions and the emotions weighing on him about his future. Maybe at some point, it really will be time for him and Leon to start looking around…

Stupid questions. This was torture. I'm a Canucks fan 1000 percent. But also, I am a Connor McDavid fan. I was cheering for them as if I were cheering for the Canucks. What a trooper for playing with an injured foot. The heart is there. but lets heal up Connor, to get them next year. :). McDavid = GOAT

Nurse contract , Brobert, Holloway , McLoud , Jarry and the defence they gave up now playing for Colorado . Corey Perry made for playoffs . Minnesota's goalie was Edmonton's draft pick. No Babrovski or Bennington for a playoff run and next year or two.
The team went to the finals with a at best average coach , they almost won despite a bad coach . He has little to offer . Oilers need new management , new coach , new system , until then it will just be super frustrating .
Connor plays on another level but it also makes for selfish style of play. That's what cost Canada in the gold game OT and hurts the Oilers. He needs to stop trying to shoulder the game. Use the other assets on the ice.
