Yes Benson slew footed Mcavoy. It was payback for armbar/faceplanting Dahlin at center ice. Slapshot style hockey is the only way low talent teams like Boston and Philly can remotely compete. The game is much more entertaining without butcher thug hockey.

McAvoy is getting somewhere between a 2-5 game suspension next season. But that line failed him after he got tripped like that. Andrew Ference, Marchand, or McQuaid would’ve jumped Benson for that 15 years ago.
Crazy that McAvoy decided to swing his stick at Benson instead of just dropping the gloves and doing it with his fists.. Would of never gotten fined and suspended.. I would of respected him had he did that but i can't respect his response at all! Bi*ch move!
The league is getting younger and faster. Pasta and McAvoy are not fitting the mold of the current landscape of the NHL .
Bear fan here. I called it for the Swords in 5 and was off by one on a lucky pass to Pasta in OT. Not a championship team or coach. Congrats to Buffalo.
