Regardless of how you feel about the hirings, it’s cool as fuck that Mats is back in the organization

    Step 1: Dismiss Craig Berube

Everything else can follow after that. Genuinely think a new coach would automatically make this current team can for a playoff spot. That’s how badly this team underperformed under Berube.

  3. Medianstatistics

Good! I was worried they would hire an Advisor who wants to lose.

  4. rdawg1234

Just please don’t pull the we need a whole season to evaluate speech lol

  5. Love Mats Sundin

I hope Pelley and Rogers stay the fuck out his way

Although Chayka hire has me worried

  6. Guy_Le_Man

Oh shit he wants to win? That’s unique.

  7. moabthecrab

They all do. Do they have the brains to make it happen? Now, that’s the real question.

The captain i remembered from my childhood was of class and integrity. I dont doubt he has changed but massive job for this group of players to behave like him

  9. AdeptCaregiver1509

Of course he wants to win lol you think anyone is gonna take that position and start by saying he’s looking forward to losing?

How many other franchise legends have came back to their respective teams and actually made a big change?

Though, I’d still give Sundin and Chayka some time before over-analyzing everything. Too many armchair know-it-alls think they can find a better solution.

  11. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy Mats is back in the org. I’m also happy they didn’t thrust him into the POHO role prematurely. It’s the Chayka piece that I can’t stand.

  12. Remember when he steadfastly refused to waive his NMC in his contract year because he didn’t want to be a « hired gun » for another team, so Toronto got absolutely nothing for him? And then he joined Vancouver halfway through the following season anyway.

Yeah, I have my doubts on Sundin’s commitment.

  13. kingex11

He came to the wrong organization at the wrong time

  14. Independent-Ask178

My worry is Rogers about to run this team into the ground.

  15. Falconflyer75

Honestly it’s cool to have Sundin back

Let’s see if FOR ONCE the leafs don’t squander and opportunity for something special

How great would it be to finally get him a cup with the leafs after all these years

  16. JamesCurtis24

I want somebody to explicitly state the goal is not vaguely ‘winning’. I want somebody to clearly state the goal is a Stanley Cup. Period. Not the playoffs. Not regular season success. A Stanley Cup. And every move is in mind to achieve that. Not a short cut to achieve something else.

  17. SubRosaSubway

Many have tried, you think you’ll change things?

  18. Strongbow7447

I don’t doubt this for a second. But does the ownership want to win more than profit? Check back in 5 years, when we can start rebuilding …
