One of the worst nights we’ve had defensively in quite some time.

    Definitely an outlier though

Middsy and Spurg are better than what they showed last night, I think we see them bounce back, Bogo however is not fast enough if we aren’t aiming to slow the aves down. Yurov was a bright spot from that game too.

This supports the eye test for me regarding Yurov. I thought he looked really good last night. He was hard on pucks and showed some physicality that he really hadn’t so far in the playoffs.

I liked Dani’s game last night. He kept composed and focused, he’s gonna be in game 2 for sure.

Strange night for Fabes but he was tasked with doing a LOT and outside of his partner he didn’t have any help and I could feel his frustration which doesn’t happen a lot. That’s what worries me because I don’t see a solution for that right now.

It felt like a really quiet game for Bolds but he was battling. It just felt like he couldn’t get into it very much, expecting that to change as well.

It’s the D pairings outside of 743 that need a hard look both during this series and during the off season whenever that should arrive hopefully not for a long time. But we have a serious issue. It’s not just that they’re getting older but the amount of pressure that’s on 743 to do it all is not good.

I see what you mean about the Quinn stats but this also shows that there was not much defense . .

The defense stats are abysmal, but thankfully Colorado wasn’t much better in that department 😅

Middleton just is not good enough for 2nd pair minutes, especially vs Colorado.

  8. Bottom line is this is what the stats look like when chasing after being down 3-0. It’s impossible to play solid D when needing to take chances to score and not having Brodin/Ek. The crazy thing is it almost worked. It’s absolutely critical for the Wild to not be playing from behind in game 2.

End of the road boys time to go play with Benn on the beaches of Cancun

I legitimately can’t read these. They make me feel like such a confused boomer.

That said, we were never going to sweep the Avs. I’m glad we got the worst game of the series out of the way quickly.

This surprises me for kaprizov just because after their initial 3 goal flurry they called him out specifically for not getting back or doing enough to pick up the follow up guys on some of the goals and made it seem like it was multiple instances instead of just one goal. I took it at face value because the clips they showed did look like he was out of the play and didn’t make an effort but based on this chart it looks like he did fine

Wally needs more support out front. Getting shelled in his rookie year with 43 shots on net from the Avs is definitely a “welcome to the league young man”
