Leafs fans are toxic. Negative. Impatient. Ready for blood on day one. Its an impossible crowd to please. Sports teams are inherently volatile. Dynasties are short. But in Toronto there is no leash. Multiple losses in a row mean everyone must be fired or traded. How can a new manager or GM meet those expectations?

Matthews was part of the problem. Hes going to ,'sit back see how it goes" ? I guess he's in charge. If players only play for teams they approve of, regardless of contract , where are we? The guy signed a huge deal and hasn't held up his end this year. Last year too. These baby players drive me nuts. Worse than the owners. Basically he's quit on the team if he doesnt like the players. This is the problem, the Leafs need to rid themselves of Austin Matthews and William Nylander.
They got rid of Boston Pizza and brought in Wendys…same old Leafs. This team always doubles down on the very things it got itself into trouble in the first place. All business, no passion. Who is the new boss?
Cpt Matthews is a player with a contract & needs to step up as a player & hold the players around him accountable, be a leader. As for Berube who I respect thank you for your service & time to move on.
