Steve Yzermans stock has dropped as a manager and it effects the culture around the organization. Detroit isn't going to be signing top free agents anytime soon. This is just part of the problem going forward. How many players have been willing to wave a NTC to come to Detroit? So basically this makes it difficult to bring talent to town. No draft picks and prospects have been underwhelming and some even irrelevant. Core players are in prime years and the best vets are in the last years. How is this a rebuild on track? Things aren't falling into place.

If we had seider Raymond and kasper/danielson turned into Cooley and we got Carlson it would be a different story right now .

I get so tired of these trade Larkin takes, especially while in the same breath you're saying you wont get a return besides prospects (except maybe at the deadline). I usually agree with a lot of what you talk about, but a Larkin, Raymond, DeBrincat, Seider, Edvinsson core is a very solid start to a team. Do you need more talent? Of course. Do you need WAY more grit? Of course. Detroit has a plenty of goalies in the pipeline, even past Cossa and Augustine, such as Postava and Gylander– Postava is the dark horse that gets overlooked because of the Cossa/Augustine hype. Falling apart after the deadline is a culture problem— fix that and you'll have a winning recipe. —Some 5 on 5 scoring would help too…. =)
I agree. They are in purgatory and will stay there indefinitely as things are now.
