Solovyov is Russian scrapple, Dewar is a good retention, the best breakaway man on the 2nd best line after the first this season
What kids??? Rutger can't stay healthy plus he needs to improve. Ville, nope. Broz, not ready for NHL. So, again, who? Unless our draft produces a Kindel. Horcoff and Zonn isnt ready for the NHL. Malkin, and our whole bottom 6 is not blocking anyone. Malkin signs a 1 year then retires there's an opening for someone. Brazil has 1 year left and unless he plays the way he did for the first 25 games a kid could bump him out. Mantha isn't coming back. Also, who knows when and who will be in a trade, we know Kyle Dubas will make at least 1 trade this off-season.
I'm desperately hoping Kyle calls up Dallas, and no not Robertson, can swing a deal ……..hear me out, for Thomas Harley and Tyler Seguin!!! Harley is starting his 8 year × 10.5$ mill contract and is only 25 years old, perfect for Kyle's plans. Seguin clears their cap space problem but we take on. He may only play 20 games because he's been injured for years. Dallas wants Robertson, Robertson wants Rantenan $$ or perhaps more. Some are saying 13$ mill aav. To keep them all, with Harley's extention kicking in and Robertson at 13$ mill they would be approx 4-4.5$ mill over cap. They have others to resign also, correct? What, let 4-5 guys walk and try to find players 1.5-2$ mill less each to fill those 4-5 roles?? That will weaken the team. Dallas is win now mode, period. To give them that option, Seguin attached to the deal, they could go after Raddish, have $$ to resign Bourque & co, AND have $$$ for trade deadline which they'll definitely want! We strengthen our core defense, which will help Silvos & Murashov from all those odd man rushes per game, who knows what happeneds to EK#65 after this next year, Letang NEEDS to be talked to about his new 3rd pairing role, and we have an outstanding defenseman for the next 10+ years! I would imagine a straight trade for Harley would cost 3 pieces, say a Rakell, 1st, and prospect but us willing to take Seguin changes absolutely everything. So, what would it take to do this from our end so Dallas would sign this trade Nick????? Blessings, Victor 🇨🇦 🍁 🙏
No one is going to block young kids. Novak and Brazeau are tradable/capable of being scratched without it being a big deal. Currently constructed if they re-sign Malkin the forward lineup looks like this…
Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Chinakhov-Novak-Malkin
Soderblom-Kindel-Brazeau
Dewar-Lizotte-Hayes
With Hallander coming off a serious blood clot issue, who knows if he will be back fully healthy and ready to go. But let’s say the perfect scenario happens and you have all of Hallander, McGroarty, Broz, and Koivunen win spots on the nhl team. They can trade Novak and Brazeau to make room and move kindel up to 2C or move Rakell down to 2C and put one of those guys on Crosby’s LW.
Most likely with Hallander’s issue is that he’s going to be a guy that you rotate in and out of the lineup due to conditioning concerns so he is technically your 13th F, Broz takes Novak’s spot and McGroarty takes Brazeau’s spot.
As for the Dallas question of who would I rather? I’d rather Hintz because he’d be the perfect 2C that can become the eventual 1C when Crosby retires. Then it would be Harley because that would solidify the top 4 LD. Then Robertson because he’s the superstar goal scorer. Then Bourque. I don’t think there is a wrong answer though.
Even Matk Madden whose been trying to get rid of Malkin since 2008 said to sign Mslkin
