    McKenna was outscoring top drafted players in NCAA this year. 2nd overall in pts per game. Unbelievable McKenna slander artists are going to look dumb real soon. He outscored McDavid by 0.5 pts per game people.

    What they need to do is target Jason Robertson to fill out the top 6, trade woll or hildeby to a team that needs goalie depth for a decent defenseman.

    Rebuild the d core and use the new team to make a deep enough playoff push to acquire mcdavid next year.

    Mckenna Mcdavid Nylander
    Nick Robertson JT Cowan

    Then all you need is a decent 4th line. To play 4 minutes a night

    Gavin McKenna is NOT going to be “at the helm”. You might want to gain an understanding of what that means before saying it. An 18 year old is never at the helm of any NHL roster, let alone one with multiple all stars.

    Leafs fans never learn…… the kid will come in and have a good season but he isn’t gonna walk in and put up Celebrini numbers. I’d expect him to have a better rookie season than Bedard just because Bedard had literally NOBODY on that team but the Leafs aren’t returning to form because of McKenna alone. Lots of work to do to that team still. D sucks and Goalies are average at best

    I really hope they can try to trade Austin Matthews. Maybe to San Jose get that second overall pick plus a couple other assets. Gavin can be under the wing of John Tavares while that Swede can be under the wing of Willie Nelander.

    We have so much cap space will be able to manage the bottom six and even maybe potentially get a top defenceman

    It's time to trade Austin Matthews and his $13.5 million contract
