Yeah the pizza is trash outside NJ! I remember I had a business trip out in Arizona. Hotel was a 2 hour drive from the airport. I finally got to my hotel, and I said to the front desk clerk "I just spent 6 hours in the air, and another 2 behind the wheel. I really do not feel like driving anywhere. What's a good pizza spot around here?" She said oh you gotta try Guidos! They're great!" Well, I ordered Guidos…it was like eating cardboard with ketchup and parmesan cheese. I was starving, so I ate it…but I went downstairs, and said "You call this pizza? This is an insult to my Italian heritage!
I really hope HBSE gives Mehta a long leash. He is definitely very well spoken, and one of us.

2-3 seasons till the Devils are are real contenders. Sunny has to fix the Fitz screwups and that is going to take time. I feel like the Devils can make the playoffs and start to move into a perennial playoff team next year though. Exciting times ahead if this pans out.
Pizza outside of NJ/NYC is equivalent to the Fitzgerald era of the NJ Devils.
The small minority of haters for this hire because he’s too “analytical” are dead wrong because he’s a poker player means he’s bold and will make those ballsy moves. It’s just great I love how multi dimensional he is which is good. The whole identity thing is great, Fitz was set on wanting us to mimic Florida or Boston even though our team isn’t built like those teams. Like it or not we’re a more speedy skilled team. Anyways, he’s just the polar opposite of Fitz: GREAT speaker and I’m here for it. Another great bit was when he said I know I’m gonna make some moves that the fans won’t be happy with but you just have to trust me. That definitely supports your claim that he won’t hide away.
