Well huh. This doesn’t seem to line up with the « Canes have had an easy path » narrative, does it?
Other still-active goalies:
14. Blackwood
17. Gustavsson
19. UPL
23. Dostal, -3.7 😮
Having the best goalie and sweeping no. 2 and no. 3 is something.
I do feel for Vladar and Ullmark. Just ran into a buzzsaw, but wow Freddy having a great postseason I’d be happy if the Canes won
Ok, explain it to me like I don’t know basic math…Vladar’s numbers seem good but then the last column is not?
Honestly don’t know how to interpret this.
Jesus Anderson. Maybe the break will be beneficial for him. Take a bow good sir
Freddy and Marner to the leafs are basically squidward looking out his window at SpongeBob and Patrick
Good for Mr. Andersen. It’s nice to see him finally hold it down in the playoffs.
We should still be wary of using GSAx with small sample sizes, because (correct me if I’m wrong) attackers missing shots wide still counts as goals saved. Won’t matter over 80 games but will over 10 games. Like Vasilievsky probably « saved » a few Caufield chances but he’s just on a cold streak, shooting wide and over the net.
Korpi with a 1.000 save percentage? Conn Smythe
So the Canes easy schedule has involved having the best goalie, and sweeping the #2 and #3 best, while awaiting the 4th or 5th best.
The Sens were one of the best post all-star break teams, Philly was a solid team that earned their spot across the full season, and the Canes earned the #1 spot in the east with great goaltending all season and the #2 scoring in the league. They were even beating up on teams at the end of the season with the AHL squad.
This break worries me, but damn the Canes are good.
Fuck Carolina
