Even without nurse though we still need two top six wingers, a top four RHD and a goalie. Walman can fill Nurse’s prior role and Stastney can be LD3. As for a top six winger, Alex Tuch would be ideal, but I doubt we can afford him
It'll be good to see him gone, the Oilers never did and never will get their money's worth for that contract. Too slow and disinterested in winning.

Bowman needs to aquire a 7th defenceman and put Nurse on the wing as a forchecking powerforward capable of 20-25 goals
We have to remember that Nurse still has a full no trade. So let’s not get our hopes up too high. After next season it becomes a modified. So he would still have some control.
Thing is. The Oilers have no choice in the matter. If Nurse doesn’t want to go, he won’t be traded. That why we have to temper our expectations on that.
If you can’t trade Jarry, you save more burying him in the minors than buying it out.
Again, you saying it up to thecGM to trade Nurse. It is not. They have to get Nurses approval to trade him. So if he doesn’t want to go, it wouldn’t matter how much the team wanted to get rid of him, they couldn’t. And he wouldn’t waive last off season.

Why is this even a conversation? Nurse has a FULL NMC. He didn't waive it last year when he was asked to or the year before. He's not waiving it this year.
MAYBE if the Soilers eat95% of the worst contract in the NHL
Nurse is living the dream playing like a beer leaguer and making millions in Edmonton. Why the heck would he waive his NMC?
Nurse's sweet contract was for being McDavid's buddy not because he was a good defenseman. McDavid's hand was allover this Nurse contract so the two of them deserve what they have received by that I mean never winning a Stanley Cup.
So nurse isn’t worth 9.25.
Then what is he worth?
5? 6?
So the oil get rid him and eat 4.25 – 3.25.
That leaves 5-6 mill to get someone to be what nurse is.
And 3.25-4.25 LESS to fill 11 other positions- 11-12 million
