I didn’t need to see this today.
I was 16 watching this with my dad and brother in an otherwise pitch black basement late at night. We sat there in absolutely stunned silence for what felt like an hour waiting for it to be confirmed and not wanting to celebrate too early. One of my fondest sports memories for sure
I remember a few years later they gave Doc the chance to redo his call on the goal, but it felt forced and cheesy to me. I always loved his absolute confusion on the initial call because that was genuine and how most people were feeling.
I remember watching this as it happened. I believed Kane and got excited too.

Was in a bar in Chicago watching this. The amount of beer being sprayed was as if we were in the locker room ourselves.
So amazing. Sharp is the only other one who realized it, you can see him react right away. Amazing head and shoulder fakes by Kane to even create this space. Sometimes he played hockey like a WR juking, and it changed the game. He is 21 here.

I remember watching this at 10 years old and being one of the only people to celebrate right away at the bar I was at with my dad. Everyone was confused and I’m just going crazy screaming “we won”. One of my favorite Hawks memories
I was up in the last row of the Wachovia Center for this moment. I somehow managed to make it to all four games that the Blackhawks won in the Finals in ’10.
It should be said that this was the most anticlimactic moment of my life. The one thing that I will remember most was all 20,000 people inhaling at the exact same moment trying to figure out what exactly had just happened.
It should also be said that the overwhelming majority of the Philadelphia faithful in attendance were the biggest POS that I’ve ever come across in all of my travels.
Flyers fans realizing that Annti Niemi’s wife was out in the smoking section. One of the geniuses screaming « Let’s rape her » as ahe ran back inside.
Flyers fans spitting and throwing garbage on people.
Security throwing out Blackhawks fans for being assaulted.
I watched a car try to run down a young family wearing Blackhawks gear after the game, while they tried to cross the street.
I find great joy in the fact that the Flyers haven’t won anything in 50 years.
Watched this live, it was so confusing.
