Let’s face it Carolina will smoke both these teams .
UPL has to start game 4. Doesn’t matter if it was Lyons fault or not… after 2 games where you lose that bad, something drastic has to happen. Force the team to play better defensively to not let another goalie down.
Had to hype this for your positivity. I was like Homer dissolving backwards in the shrubs as a Sabres fan since last night
I gotta disagree with you on Malenstyn running Dobes. The intent is very important. He could’ve peeled off to the left but he CHOSE to go right through Dobes. Bolduc has just as much right to get inside positioning as malenstyn has to crash the net. It’s not as though he had nowhere to go and accepted his fate, he made a choice.
Lastly, Buffalo has been throwing the extra punch all series, and you see Carrick throw 3-4 jabs at xhekaj before eating those shots. Don’t throw punches if you don’t wanna get hit.
Wrong. The regular season doesn't mean jack squat. This is playoff hockey baby. Only the strong survive!
Habs are better. And outside of game 7. They were better than Tampa.
Game 1 was the anomaly after a 7 game war
Good point about UPL. I can totally see that scenario happening
You're like a North Korean propagandist
Dude, wtf? You don't think this guy totally ran the goalie? You don't think he could have done anything to prevent that from happening? Not even… not running the goalie? It's like I'm 99.99% of the way of punching you, then I say there's literally nothing I can do to stop it. Dumb ass take for sure. 0% bias all day, most sane Sabres fan ok buddy sure.
Honestly, you shouldn't talk about Hockey anymore, if you are being this biased. Nobody should take what you say seriously. Everyone is a little biased, sure. But saying this guy did nothing wrong is just brain dead all day. Re think it, please.
Bro you have clearly have never actually played. But o intended If you played once you know that. Plus he has a history of that BS.
Lane Hutson taking off his jock is more impressive than anything you will ever do
Lol… Very bad second half of your video…
Ughh… hmmmmm
My take on game 7 was that Montreal might have got outshot, but Tampa got goalied and the Habs overall showed a resilience and relentless stubborness that doesn't give a damn that they were being outplayed. They held their ground and made the most of the few breakthroughs they did get. In some ways that impresses me much more than classic good gameplay. It says that the fight means more to them than the odds. That level of never say die grit is so important as they go deeper into these playoffs, and the Tampa series proved they could lock into that headspace for a long grind.
You are right during regular season but the during playoff Habs goalie just amazing so that make difference
I would say it’s pretty damn impressive that the lightning pushed this team to game seven because I think this series is gonna be over in five… And not to be a Debbie downer here, but I don’t think the Sabres are gonna win another game this year and their season comes to an end at home in game five. Had to make matters worse. I don’t see Lindy coming back next year either. I think this is his last hurrah and it’s a shame because they really turned things around, but they just can’t do nothing right against Montreal I hope jarmo is taking notes of what this team needs for next year to get further. Including a full-time stud goalie because lion is playing great but at his age, he’s not really the guy Luukkonen has never really been an NHL goaltender. He just can’t make it leap. Don’t know what the hell happened to Devon Levi. It wasn’t he supposed to be the savior and now he has like a 4.8 goals against the average and an 830 save percentage what the fuck
So, Malenstyn tried to jump over 6 foot four Dobes to avoid hitting him? Quite a guy. Would have been easier to go left or right. Did he try stopping with a side turn of his skates? I guess Malenstyn also said "Excuse me" on his way over Dobes.
Malenstyn = Krieder.
You all are missing Montreal's defensive game. They are confident enough with Dobes that the defense only needs to allow Dobes see it. IN the Tampa series Montreal had better high danger shots while Montreal's defense didn't allow close in plays on Dobes. In game one of the Buffalo series Montreal just came off a 7 game series still feeling that effect. But I am surprised Buffalo didn't score 6-8 goals because Montreal came back in the third to manage a respectible loss.
Tapped on the head? Lmao
He did get fined so I guess they decided it wasn't on Bolduc.
Sabres biggest challenge now is not lose in 5. Montreal has simply outplayed buffalo.
Unless some miracle happens, Sabres unfortunately are cooked. Just the way it is. Better team usually wins
Gunna preface this with much respect to the Sabres team for finally being back in the dance and especially to their amazing fans!
As a serious Habs fan, I know the regular season was a ‘wash’ between the two teams, but a couple important things folks forget are: in the two games Buffalo won, Dobes was not even playing, it was Montembault in net and his terrible season has been well documented. Also, all the games they played were before the Olympic break – after Olympic break Dobeš turned his game around and had the best goalie numbers in the league (he had a stretch of 5 games at one point where no opposing team scored more than 1 goal). Finally, in the first half of the season, it was the Habs who had about the most injuries in the league (both Florida teams were pretty decimated too), so Buffalo didn’t face the same roster as they are now.
Buffalo right now is about where Montreal was last year. Surprisingly and suddenly strong team, that made the playoffs, but not quite ready for the bright lights. Montreal learned from Washington series (Habs had more hits than any team in playoffs in round 1 this year), and they learned a LOT from Tampa: how to play against and with stifling defence, and even more tuffness… Montreal beat the shit out of Tampa so badly that after Game 2, Tampa completely dropped the physical intimidation tactics, and just played hockey (same reason why Buffalo’s between whistles shenanigans is having no effect at all, and nobody would dare fight Xekaj or Anderson, or Struble, who isn’t even in the lineup right now).
Yes, they’re close in some
areas, but Montreal is either a little or a lot ahead in almost all of them: Habs slightly better in areas like defence, speed and skill, or waaaay better in areas like power play and faceoffs. The only 2 areas I thought Buffalo had an advantage were in size (which Buffalo doesn’t use effectively), and depth, but Montreal so far is out performing them handily in that area too.
Finally, Montreal’s not so secret weapon is their coach Marty. He has built the strongest locker room in the league, and no team wants to run thru a wall more than this team does for Marty. He coaches with the same cleverness & passion that he played with. Don’t bet against Marty.
My advice to Buffalo… use your speed not to try to break out in wild offence, but use it to pressure Mtl at all times. Then offence comes from their mistakes. The challenge is Mtl has elite thinkers at high speed – Hutson, Demidov, Suzuki, Caulfield, etc.
Best thing Buffalo can do is soak up this experience, learn from it the way Montreal did, and apply that learning next year when they get back at it. But this is the end of the line for their season.
Buffalo Sabres are a good team, and I’m glad they’re back in the playoffs cause their amazing fans deserve it.
Go Habs! 😁
The goalie interference penalty was justified. We habs fans remember when the rangers did the same thing to price 10 years ago. Ruined our chances to a cup. In those kind of situations, I don't really care about intent of the players, touching a goalie is big no for me!
You're delusional to think Beck tried to avoid running Dobes , it was a desperate measure by him to change momentum in game to help his team
These takes are next level delusion. That play is fully on Malenstyn. You have no clue what you’re talking about.
I know homerism is a thing, but you are embarrassing yourself my man.
Stock crying.
Hey! It’s Buffalo! We are used to failure (crying).
On paper, both teams are well-matched. But in hindsight, Buffalo needing 6 games against Boston should have been a warning sign because Montreal, who were battling the hellish Bolts who were suffocating the high-octane speed offensive style of the Habs, took just one more game to beat Tampa.
It opened my eyes that maybe Buffalo took it easy in the first round against Boston while the Canadiens suffered and had to massively upgrade their intensity, drive and focus to pass into the 2nd round and eliminate the team that killed their Stanley Cup dreams in the Cup finals in 2021. The Habs came into Buffalo dialed in and ready for a new kill.
They lost Game 1 because they were coming off the emotional 7th game win against Tampa and were probably tired, but they still got got looks against Lyon and they just reset before game 2 and then boom, Buffalo is down 1-2 in the series and Montreal just got 2 very convincing wins where Buffalo got dominated on pretty much all stats.
I think Buffalo will lose again in the cauldron that is the Bell Center, will get a final win to uplift their spirits at home in game 5 and will be eliminated in Montreal at game 6.
So if Anderson "doesn't try to stop" and trucks Lyon next game, you're fine with it? If Buffalo wants to take stupid penalites and get scored on all series, then good. And Dobes usually plays well when pissed off, very Roy like in that sense. So win – win. You're defending a play that hurt your team…
