WHO DO YOU THINK THE CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS SHOULD DRAFT AT 4th OVERALL?
It's either Belchetz or Bjorck. Belchetz fills a need for a bigger winger for Bedard but Bjorck can come in right away and he's a lot like Nazar.
I can make a point for multiple players. Carels could be 1LHD and let's Vlasic and Kaiser move down a pair. Reid and Levshunov can be your top 2 RHD and allows Rinzel to be 3rd pairing. It would create incredible depth on the blueline.
If you go Malhotra, he cam be your long term 2C and allows Frondell to play with Bedard.
Stenberg is the dream though.
Stenberg, Malhotra, Carels, Smits or Reid. Will be happy with any of them.

i know everyone says best player available no matter what, but i really fee like thats just smoke. hawks need a GOOD LDH, they got a lot of wingers that could graduate and the centers are pretty full with options too

my archair gm mock trade ideas.
option a – stay at #4 and let the board come to you. and draft mkenna, stenberg, carels/reid, or malhotra.
option #2 – hawks trade #4 overall, 2027 1st rd pick (via oilers), and edm to the sharks in exchange for #2 overall.
option calgary – hawks trade #4 overall to the flames in exchange for #6 overall, the vegas 1st rd pick, and blake coleman.
The Blackhawks are drafting the next Daniel Alfredsson in Ivar Stenberg.
I wouldn't be that shocked to see Stenburg available at 4th, very rare two 5'11 wingers go in the first 4.
Sharks need top D, I actually think if they don't grab one now they'll regret it massively in a few years, they are basically impossible to get in trade. And I don't see a drop off from Stenburg to Reid.
Canucks need a true centre prospect and Malhotra will be a beast in a couple years, his trajectory is to the moon.
However if it goes differently, I'm happy with Reid, Malhotra, Carels; all fantastic prospects with big NHL careers ahead.
If Stenberg is on the board at #4, the Hawks should take him. If Stenberg is gone, I hope they take Carels. He reminds me of Thomas Harely
Stop getting everyone’s hopes up with stenberg. You guys did this garbage last year with misa as well. Its sent us fans into serious depression. It’s not happening so why build it up. Seen this stupid movie before and we end up with the guy outside the actual top of the draft.
I swear I keep hearing this Lawrence shit of hawks really liking him. While we need another center. This is not the guy.
Not happening, Chicago fans. The Sharks are taking Stenberg at #2 ; best player available. Defense will be addressed through other means. Don't get your hope up. Mike Grier is very smart. He will not let the Hawks get the best player available even if his team needs defense.
I think we really need elite defense prospects.
KD has missed on every single one he has drafted.

Levshunov – 100% bust
If Chase Reid is available we need to take him.

There’s no way the Sharks keep the 2nd pick and don’t take Stenberg. If they want Reid or Carels they’ll trade down with either the Canucks or Chicago, get something in return, and get their man. If by draft day that pick hasn’t happened, Chicago is getting a defenseman (Canucks will take Malhotra if he’s available at 3rd).
I’m hoping the hawks end up with Carels, we need a gritty top pair left handed D-man. Carels fits the bill. But they could easily take Reid, Malhotra, or Smits, happy with any of those
Look i would be ECSTATIC if Stenberg were available at 4. He would be PERFECT for Bedards wing. And it would really allow the Hawks to slide Frondell/ Nazar around to either Center or Wing as needed
Do i think it will happen? No. While, yes, the Sharks need Defensive prospects MEGA-BADLY…im not sure theyll pass up on the talent. I give a 66.7% chance SJS goes Stenberg…and im also not sure Vancouver passes on him either, butni would be surprised to see him available at 4th
Otherwise, Im hoping for Chase Reid or Carson Carels. They would be great for the Defense and would allow you to trade some pieces plus draft capital for good players
