I think it’s time to make a new PP1, it’s not working currently. I’d try newhook instead of demidov.
We started the 3rd with 2:30 on PP and did absolutely nothing.
16 minutes of PP time and 1 goal. Thats 8 PPs. They are running at about a 20% rate so you would have expected at least 1 more. They have to capitalize on these but really, the fucking Zamboni door which has been causing problems all year and should have been fixed already is what cost them the game.
It was like the Chicago game
Demidov needs a break off pp1.
This just wasn’t really an impressive game from either team IMO
Honestly, that 4-minute powerplay didn’t even feel dangerous. It feels like we either win the faceoff or get a clean zone entry, then just set up the exact same way we’ve been doing since Game 1 of the playoffs. Nothing changes, no different looks, no adjustments, just moving the puck around the perimeter waiting for the perfect play that only sometimes comes.
What I don’t understand is why guys come off every powerplay and immediately go to the iPad on the bench if nothing ever changes. What are we even reviewing if there are zero adjustments being made?
What’s hard to believe is that we only got 2 goddamn shots on net during an entire 4:00 double minor penalty. We are nowhere near aggressive enough on the PP. This passing around the perimeter waiting for the absolute perfect shot crap has got to stop
Demidov is off his game and unreliable on the PP.
Slaf looked drunk at times and I really hope he’s not too injured.
Nick and Cole have barely any clutch factor.
Lane is going fucking beast mode every single time and makes literally everything happen.
This can’t keep going like this. Just put Newhook and Dach/Bolduc on the first unit or some shit.
tbh the habs looked like they needed a fucking perfect setup to score.
meanwhile the boards scored for buffalo.
Someone angered the ghosts of the Forum.
If they want to keep the PP1 line as is, Slaf needs to be parked in front of the goalie. Bro’s big and can screen, instead of doing some fancy no-look pass that misses.
Yep PP has been losing them games throughout the playoffs.
Need to punish Buffalo’s lack of discipline.
I see the comment section has completely missed the point. No, our PP is not bad. It’s actually quite good. MSL is also saying it was pretty good, hence “i felt like we had a lot of chances…” but could not finish those chances.
Half the comments in here talking about how “we need to change PP1 personnel” is a comprehension issue. You guys aren’t even responding to the quote. Just flailing around.
The way she goes
Our power play set ups are predictable.
7 Marty. Your team had 7 chances
Wild thought; instead of the rookie who’s been struggling and making nonstop mistakes, maybe just maybe we try the other lefty that’s been tearing up these playoffs.
Stop passing the puck around and just shoot it to the net and hope for a deflect.
They had 3 – 4 one timers that 6K answered everytime. He’s a massive goalie that plays deep in his net he has no problem getting across. Wait him out with a fake and put it in the hole, like Caufield on his PP goal. They have to adjust to the goalie… Suzuki’s one timer from Hutson was perfectly placed but 6K was in position way before the shot even came. Take the pass and throw a deke you’re all alone with time. They will adjust, video coaches will figure it out like they did game 1.
Going 1 for 7 on the powerplay basically guarantees a loss
They’re way too stationary and static on the PP. The movement is so predictable, only Hutson breaks with the pattern and lo and behold he’s always the most dangerous player on the ice.
We didnt play the front of the net enough offensively
Our PP has been pathetic.
Our 1st line generates almost nothing at even strength and is not so good on PP neither. So disappointing !
Easily would of had the win if we capitalized on those power play opportunities. The shitty bounce off the stanchion didn’t do us any favours either.
Either way, we’re on to game 5
He’s right. Our special teams sucked.
