    If they are patient I think this will be good. Johnson had been around and say the dysfunction of Hughes and Miller, he saw the young guys come through Abbotsford. He has an idea of the team he wants to build.

    I PREDICTED that Ryan Johnson will come through as the newly hired GM of the Vancouver Canucks.
    In a sense, I see the Sedins replacing Jim Rutherford as Presidents of Hockey Operation (you can disagree with that notion).

    Now, Canucks GM Ryan Johnson must answer these question:
    -Is Adam Foote his Head Coach moving forward
    -Who do they pick at #3 in the 2026 NHL Draft
    -What is he going to do with Elias Pettersson (who is SHOULD be the cornerstone of the franchise . . .)?
    -Can he stand up to the owner and convince him that a trade or whatever move it is must be done to improve the team?
    -What will he do with the players with no-move/no-trade clauses that has underperformed since the 2024 playoff run?

    That is what I'm looking for in Ryan Johnson for this season and down the road.

    From what I read, Johnson has excelled in his recent assignments, and has the personal qualities to win people's cooperation. Now his bona fides as a GM will be tested. This happens with all first-time GMs so, that's not news. The Sedins as co-presidents . . . hmmmm. Shared roles seldom work out, but if anyone can make that work it's Daniel and Henrik. The big question is do they have the judgement and experience to make the right decisions going forward, and to give the right direction to the people in hockey ops. That remains to be seen – no slag against the Sedins, as this will be a new challenge for them. There's clearly a lot of heart for the Canucks in these appointments. Let's see what happens.

    I just wonder if we will have a team of all soft skill players and no one except Boeser over 200 pounds. Johnson was a passive player who played a passive game with the Twins. As a kid I lived the life of turn the other cheek but it does not work especially in hockey. Every playoff team has battle and grit. Seems we build the same team for like 10-15 years now. Get a little toughness and size and start winning then tear it down again. Seems that they like passive soft skill players. They did not like Zadorov, Cole, Schenn, Miller, Garland. But love Karlsson, Aman, Petey Boeser. All good soft skill players with no one to back them up. I loved The West Coast Express. A mix of skill and toughness. But that is not the brand we have today. Another thing is you don't win with a team that averages around 190 pounds. Playoff teams average close to or above 200 pounds. I was thinking the Guy from Boston would make huge changes. But we really don't know what is going to happen. Soft skill we can tank for a few more years. Make sure the rebuild takes at least 5 years.

    Total BS , canucks needs a total change , not the same same but different . 😢 so all they did is keep the exact same mindset that got them into this trouble ,but got younger so the fans can suffer longer .The Sedins are great hockey players and super nice and thats a huge issue ,canucks need a person who will make the hard choices with out caring

    I will do what I have done since 1970: Wait and see.. then groan, then see how long I can stand on one leg (easier than being a Canucks fan)

    Thanks for the update Clay!…. and nice dance moves lol I'm pumped about the Sedins and hopefully Malholtra signs on somewhere id really like to see him stick around!!! Now our team is still young these new faces in the office aren't gonna change to much on the ice so we still need to be patient!!!! Hang in there everyone
