    Iconic goal/moment for that team.

Funnily, Oetter has never played that well again.

First playoff game I ever went to. Wife and I dished out quite a bit to be there. When that goal went in, beer exploded everywhere in the stands. Such an awesome moment.

If only Markstrom didnt forget how to make saves in round 2. ( or Sutter remembered there was a backup goalie on the bench) . Here’s hoping for more playoff hockey soon.

  9. Amazing that it’s only been 4 years. This feels like a lifetime ago to me.

I lived a few blocks from 17th Ave, I could hear the cheering from there before my feed caught up 🥹

Man, I feel like I’ve cursed the team in some way with my fandom….

Ahead of the Playoffs that year, my friend that I do a sports podcast with suggested that we « adopt » a team to root for in the Playoffs & I chose the Flames. Watching every moment of their games to the point of this goal I was « rooting » for them, but when that puck went in and I leapt off the couch screaming in excitement; I realized « oh shit, I’m ACTUALLY a Flames fan now ».

Have been fully invested ever since, and it’s done nothing but go downhill. But someday we’ll all have as much excitement, (and cathartic release) when they’re hoisting the Cup.

Unfortunately cause of the job i was working i didnt get to watch much of this team but out of curiousity can someone tell me if millen was as negative about this team as he was with the more recent flames teams?
(I honestly never had a problem with millen tho)

What I don’t miss, is the POS goalie we had, Markstrom?….I sometimes wonder how far we could’ve gotten had Sutter played Vladar against the Oilers.
