Don’t go Anderson please, but I feel like sweens wants him.
Who do you think the Bruins should target?
I think Anderson signs with VGK. More so now that they are in the finals.
Honestly we can add forward speed in free agency for a right shot defensemen I think we should trade for nemec he is young and fits this team timeline with hagens dean and zellers coming in soon and will help us now and his contract would look good over the years with the cap going up for center wise I’ve heard Hagens looked decent at center at the worlds and if he’s not ready for center you can throw zacha at center for the time being
Love Raddysh, but feel he will end up in San Jose. Do not want Andersson and not sure he wants to come here. Agree with you on mobility/speed needing to be a focus, as well as transition play. Would be most comfortable with a 3 year contract whoever they sign. Do not want Sweeney to sign someone to 5+ years in this scenario. Feel it would turn into Lindholm 2.0. Think the Bruins are going to have to find what they are looking for through a trade. I've seen chatter that after all the transitions this off-season in Vancouver that Hronek might be willing to waive his NMT, but who knows. In my mind, that would be the perfect fit if Pasta could convince him to come to Boston.
Hey Court good analysis as usual. My #1 is Nemec, cost is high but how often does someone like him become available at this age? #2 raddysh but not crazy about him. In fantasy land I would love Nemec and Thomas but that cost is gigantic. What do you think we should go after first? #1 C or 2nd pair RD?
Simon Nemec. Offer sheet or trade? we have 6 1st round picks in the next 4 drafts, gotta use em somewhere
R. Andersson and D. Raddysh sound like potential disaster with long term. For me, the goal would be trading for young RD (like Kesselring, I know he didn't have a good season but he played good on Mamooth) and chaning development.
No easy answer. I'd venture that NOT creating another bad (Lindholm-like) contract situation is more important than fixing this hole in this moment. I'd prioritize not doing that over everything else. As for these guys, Anderson already turned down Boston once. He's closer to a cup where he is. Raddysh would help, but I'm not sure he moves the needle enough to even buy them another round in the playoffs. The rest of these guys feel like a short term band-aids. Guessing that's what they do: Patch the hole, rather than fix it. They bring in a new version of Peeke from another team. They might bring Peeke back, too. The Devil you know.
I d say Nemec so non of them haha. They gave gor tp swing big. But honestly, I think they can get by one more year with current D. They need to swing big on a forward that will help Hagens and Mitten time wise. A Jason Robertson tyep player. They have to.
Raddysh or trade for Simon Nemic from NJ. We can offer some first rounders since let’s be honest drafting isn’t don’s specialty
Who the Bruins should or shouldn't trade for entirely depends on Don Sweeney's state of mind
Although Sweeney should have realized this team was going nowhere this past post season…
Losing in the 1st round still mattered more to him than trading Peeke & Arvidsldson & at least trying to find hockey trades for Jokiharju Lohrei Korpisalo & Middlestadt while they moved forward with a short retool
Thus if Sweensy is still intent on losing in the 1st round in 2026-27 instead of trying to continue to build a longer term, Cup competitive core & team …
Than he will likeky try to trade valuable assets for a player like Simon Nemec or he'll sign older vets like Rasmus Anderson or Darren Radysh to bloated UFA deals (maybe both)
If Sweeney wakes up & realizes the right thing to do would be to NOT sign any of those big ticket UFAs & to NOT trade any good assets for a risky project like Nemec…
Then he should bring Frederic Brunet up, re-sign Andrew Peeke & go with a Top 6 of McAvoy, Lindholm, Zadorov, Peeke, Brunet & either Jokiharju or Lohrei for 2026-27
They will not be Cup competitive next year again so they should be smart & continue the retool until at least the 2027-28 season which would allow them to hold onto their top prospects & high draft picks as they continue to develop their next core
Or they can do the dumb thing & piss away good assets in trades & or piss away all their Cap Space to sign more aged vets to big money deals with NTCs to play here into their mid to late 30s even though they're still far away from being Cup competitive today whether they bring those types of players in on or not this offseason
Choosing the big ticket UFA /Trade path will keep them hovering around a wild card spot & probably losing in the 1st round for another 5+ years anytime they actually make the playoffs
As Don Sweeney & the Jacobs only care about regular season TD Garden sellouts & 1st round playoff gate…
I'd expect them to probably sign either Darryn Raddysh or Rasmus Anderson (maybe both) or even trade for someone like Simon Nemec
Ownership clearly won't tolerate a rebuild or even a short retool & Sweeney's job would be in jeopardy if they were to miss the post season even just next year
So expect Boston to be a bubble wild card team that gets roasted in any post season they make for at least the next 2-3 years versus using the next 2-3 years to keep building a viable, longer term, Cup competitive team & core
Expecting anything different based on how Don Sweeney & the Jacobs have behaved these past 11 years would just be dumb at this point
Fans do you want to drag another too slow, not skilled enough team into the playoffs again where the Bruins get exposed by the modern era NHL skill & speed teams some moelee
Or fans do you want the Bruins to transition to being a modern NHL skill & speed based team themselves
If you want the later of those two options it will mean likely missing the playoffs for a year or two while also NOT trading away their better propects & higher draft picks or signing any big ticket UFAs
However, if you're into 1st round playoff losses for another 5+ years than root for option one where they piss away the draft capital, Cap Space & prospects chasing Don Sweeney's next 1st round loss
Whoever they get….do not over pay for him.
I would rather go for a younger player like Nemec or Kesselring. Plus, look to draft.
