  1. Dark times… how about car jacking, death threats, and being doxxed with threats of violence.

  2. All three of you need to grow up, as do Leafs fans. Mitch was right, you were wrong. Admit it, and move on. He gets the last laugh. Take it on the chin and move on.

  3. As much as the media can give express to us their thoughts of Marner's lack of goal production in 26 games, one should remember this: What was Marner? Was he a sniper, like Matthews was alleged to be? The answer is No, he was the feeder to Matthews, the sniper, the Messiah. Yes, he tried to produce when Matthews was shooting blanks. He TRIED to get past those early playoff series where Babcock called out is lack of play. He just couldn't get past that old stigma. The one lucky individual of this massive mess was Matthews. With the spotlight and fan ire falling upon Marner, he was quiet as a church mouse. Fans, especially those that actually stalked and acted maliciously towards Mitch and his family….you need to get a life.

  4. These guys are such full of crap I wish they would just say how they really feel so putting on the politically correct masks

  5. Holy crap guys let it go. Every other name out of his mouth is his name with you guys you guys are the absolute worst right now.

  6. Everybody is not a Toronto fan no exactly what dark times he’s talking about and he has every right to bring it up and talk about it. It’s you Toronto fans were absolutely clueless to what you guys did to that man while the rest of us sat back and watched.

  7. This is maybe the most insane clip I've seen of theirs to be honest. For 1 he's talked about worrying about his family, he's lost like 8 playoff series and a play-in series, many in game 7s, many to eventual Cup Champs, plus he had to leave his home town team because he was somewhat of a playoff under performer. So yeah, there's been some "dark times in hockey for him" (which is the full extent of the quote). But the other insane thing, is they flipped their narrative completely on Marner's NTC! From all the clips I've seen they have the good take that Marner had a right to stay once his NTC kicked in and that it was management's fault for keeping him around. But now they're blaming Marner for not waiving? Why did he want to stay? Idk maybe he still wanted to raise the cup in his hometown? Maybe he believed they were good enough to go far in the playoffs (which was somewhat true because they lost to the Cup champs in 7). Or perhaps more likely, maybe he didn't want to have a Rantanen thing where he scopes out a nice place to go, it doesn't work, then he has to move again. The one thing Marner did wrong was thank his dad, he deserves a different father, hopefully he'll get one if he wins the Smyth

  8. the Leafs asked Mitch to do everything for everyone else, in Vegas he clearly is part of a team and a system where he doesnt have to do every little thing to have the team succeed, Marner was a great player for the Leafs and the Leafs never gave him a chance to succeed ultimately, he was Matthews setup guy and thats all he should really be not everyone elses scapegoat for things going wrong. the Leafs really need to structure their lineup better to allow their stars to succeed not fail dramatically.

  9. Was the "dark times" Marner referred to that time that he tried a spin-o-rama backhand pass up the middle of the ice that got intercepted and then he failed to get back in coverage and his guy scored a tap-in goal to kill any chance the Leafs had? Asking for a friend?

  10. If he played in Toronto in playoffs like he is doing in Vegas there would be no dark times. Of course that also goes for Matthews, Wily and all the others that “contributed “. Some of the analytical wizards at MLSE need to figure out how Vegas can always afford to get the player(s) they need and still be compliant.

  11. Wasn’t his wife and kid threatened. I interpret that as dark times. I’m a die hard leafs fan but good on Mitch and even though I want him here doing what he’s doing. Family first.

  12. How is this even controversial? The Leafs lost a 100 point player for nothing. I don't care if you have to suck his duck to make him re-sign/accept a trade – you make it work. Our GM was an incompetent idler and did nothing as his 18-wheeler roster flew off the guardrails. Mind you, the org is lucky they fell into a pillow factory called McKenna. That's the obvious silver lining to this otherwise huge blunder.

  13. Maple Leafs fans gets offended when any solid ex-Toronto player joins a truly competitive team. Thats a classic, love to see it

  14. You Toronto Fans are pretty self centered to assume the dark times weren’t a comment into his internal thought life going through the tough times there. I’m sure he felt bad and probably guilty for it not working out there. You guys do need to move on.

  15. He was doxxed, and his and his family's safety and security were at risk from angry, crazy stalkers who put his personal info online. You don't consider that dark times? Wow – you guys are cut-throat and ungrateful for when he did help the Leafs get into playoffs.

  16. The way I ran to come hear your opinion on this. I screamed so many obscenities at my TV when he said that but like ya’ll said … I get it now. Don’t take the bait! Those of us who lived it now the truth.

This is no different then people who hate on the Leafs bc its trendy to do so, those people always talk so much and so loud about us and “our opinions” that it drowns out the voices of the real fans .. it’s all just loud, fake news.

Let him win … when he comes home with the Cup to celebrate he’ll be left wondering where all the people who didn’t show up to give him the heroes welcome the media implied he would be getting are. 😂

  17. I love so much that Dangle can't accept the reality of Marner. How fun is it to watch yet another hall of famer get chased out of TO by the media and fans, and then win a cup? LOL.. so amazing.

  18. Marner was never the problem. Management in dubas was. Look at the players Vegas acquires for their team vs Toronto.

Eichel, stone, hanafin, Anderssen, Hertl, barbashev

    Foligno, McCabe, Laughton

  19. If you want the honest truth, Toronto media did that to themselves, created a narrative around Marner, FROM THE media, NOT the fans. Now taste the product of it. you cannot drop it because us, fans of other teams will not let you. It is the price you have to pay for believing that one man leaving would fix alot of the issues (im not talking about SDPN, just media in general btw). the Dark times jab is deserved, he was booed, only him, for no reason. You've successfully, Toronto Media, created so many Vegas fans (that used to DESPISE THIS team), just by yourself, I am trully impressed

  20. It takes a special player to play in T.O.
Marner is really good when he's left alone, on and off the ice.
    He's not a special player.
His regular season stats are meaningless.

  21. Marner was in an abusive relationship and he needed to get out. Now they're mad that he's about to get married 😂😂😂

  22. no one gives a damn about the Mitch Marner and what he says and what he does

Get over it and move on

If he wants to continue to be a moron it is problem

  23. Marner did not play in the playoffs

    He contributed nothing

He was a thorn in the side of the Toronto Maple Leafs

    He is guilty of SABOTAGE

HE PULLED IT OFF REAL GOOD

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TALKING ABOUT MITCH MARNER ANYMORE

    DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR

    KEEP CALM
    CARRY ON

  24. As a VGK fan, I love this! Steve and the black dude, sorry dont know his name, need to stop whining about what coulda, shoulda and all that. Dont go after Marner, he was'nt the problem. Your other players obviously dont mesh! Move on, for real because Marner is ours!

  25. It's so great to watch you guys go through what the Sabres went through when Eichel left. And you guys were dunking on the sabres the whole time so it's very sweet to see this reaction

  26. So he never said "Toronto" when he was commenting? These guys are acting like little bitches with skinned knees, when he never said Toronto? Their feefees are getting hurt. He HAS had some dark times. Are they trying to act like everything has been rosy for him? F#@l all the way off.

  27. Welp we are sadly not going to get the annual Leafs eliminated from the playoffs epic Dangle meltdown video, so this will have to suffice 😄

  28. As well as egg on their faces, every fan and media person who hated on Marner also has their foot in their mouth. Face it – you were wrong, completely wrong.
