Keep Tippett ffs. The way he played during that Pitt series, you keep him. Also.. Edmonton has nothing of value outside McDavid or Draisaitl to offer the flyers.
Barkov was an elite #1 C before the Cup wins. #1C are top producing players in the NHL Toews was not really a high producing guy so the Cups def helped push him there but there were some almost point per game seasons but you can look around the NHL and Eichel was a #1C before winning with VGK, Suzuki is a #1C and hasnt won, Thomas is a #1C and he hasnt won as a #1C and Celebrini is clearly a #1C. I dont think a Stanley cup has that much of a impact on whether a guy is a elite C
Some of the comments in the rewind were crazy. Criticize the Flyer from not taking reclamation project, meanwhile we have taken Zegras and Jiricek. Next one about Bump being untouchable for a trade? Guys expendable, He isnt a top line Winger. At best he will be a 3rd line player with the Flyers. Martone, Michkov, Konecny, Tippett and Foerster will ALWAYS be ahead of Bump. Im not in favour of adding Matthews but if you can get a top C for a 3rd line winger, thats a no brainer……
I also agree with Charlie regarding Sanheim. He's a top #2D. We still need a #1D and my issue is we are far away from contending. How many years does Sanheim have? He's 30 now and CAR showed how far away we are so if it takes us 5 years to get a Top C, We now have Sanheim in or heading to a decline and down a top D. Theres no one really in our system that seems like they can take his spot

Keep Tippett at all costs. He is our best player PERIOD. His skating skills and eye for goal is unmatched in our team. We must keep him.
I love Tippett, but we have tons of right wings, wings in general really, and our center position is paper thin. So I’d consider trading him for the right center.
Thing is, I know Edmonton wants him next to McDavid, but they don’t have much to offer.
I like Savoie a lot. I’d take him as a nice, young center. But what else can they offer? Meh.

We can’t avoid the fact that big, fast, tough players are useful in the game of hockey.
Cam York is a typical,non descript, plain vanilla defenseman. He has no standout skill or trait, he’s pretty much average all around. Trade York and Tippett to Edmonton for Bouchard.
For anyone working trades out in their heads, Tippett has a 10 team no trade clause that kicks in I believe 7/1.
You’d think it would be all bad teams, but no, sometimes guys just pick cities they don’t wanna be. Playing with McDavid might sounds fun to him, but maybe not at the expense of being in that frozen tundra. Not to mention the taxes.
Moving Tippet would be a mistake but I understand these guys have a job to do by speaking about the what ifs. Also there was a quote I remember from the previous show here.. it was somethin like "I miss being the team that's makin the headlines for big trades" That's a terrible line of thinking and has been one of the Flyers biggest issues FOREVER… makin the big HUGE trades only to STILL lose in the end. please STOP preaching this line of thinking because as an org we're finally DOING IT RIGHT by not doing that.
I think ideally we don’t trade him to Edmonton since I don’t think they’d have a compelling enough return. However, I’m personally in the boat of we have too many wingers, and unfortunately Tippett might be an odd guy out based on timeline and value. Even if Edmonton doesn’t have the assets we need, the fact that one team is interested makes it more likely another team is also interested, which means it’s all the more likely a team with the right assets will be calling soon, hopefully
