Why would you want to trade for a player? Who’s always injured and played only five playoff games in his entire career at age 29 and had one assist

  2. I think Norris, a high level prospect (probably one of the young centers), and this year's 1st gets it done. Norris is pretty comparable to Larkin when fully healthy pause for laughter since he's never healthy and other two pieces are high value

  3. Helenius doesn’t have the injury history the other two have so that’s what they’re gonna want

But if Detroit is blowing it up, we’ll take Raymond too

  4. What’s up with these guys wanting to trade younger players for older ones that are not for sure a 1c? This team is built for the future moving forward not just the next 2 years

  5. I mean its Stevie Y so you could probable trade Carrick and a 5th and he would do it. He is as bad of a GM as he was great as a hockey player. He drafted Cossa over Wallstedt. Everyone and their mother had Wallstedt ranked ahead of Cossa

  6. Im sorry but yzerman got there 2 years ago lets not act like he didn't put together the lighting to 3 strait finals and back 2 back cups before he went to Detroit

  7. Do we have to move a young center or can we get away with moving Norris and Mcloud save cap space and sign benson to a bridge and Tuch long term???

  8. Larkin has destination control and has asked out. That isn't something to give up premium assets, this isn't going to be a bidding war situation.

Also, at five on five he isn't better than Tuch. FFS.

  9. “Not in a tough spot!” Shout it from the rooftops! Young playoff team with an aggressive GM. These are the kind of deals that I get excited about now. Also sniping a veteran guy, who’s not quite over the hill, for cheaper than market because he WANTS to play in Buffalo gets my juices flowing.

  10. I got some new nicknames for Larkin, "Disappointing Dylan" "Dylan Lackin" oh and lets not forget "Drought Dylan" since he has been with us we have been nothing and since he has been Captain we have been our worst in franchise history, he is not our best asset and I believe we can be better without him dragging us down with his comments to Yzerman and his obvious "carry me" mentality he is showing by giving up on the team and wants to be traded to a different team for a potential chance at the playoffs instead of believing in himself and the team he is part of to get the job done, he is a nothing hoping to shine under the glow of someone else's glory, he is the furthest thing from what our team needs and what any team would want. Glad he inadvertently admitted it and can't wait to see the improvement from his replacement

  11. Helenius has shown us he's a point per game talent. Why are you trading him for anyone that isn't McDavid level? Ostlund was our best center down the stretch, so if he's going, that should be considerable value coming back.

  12. I understand these guys need to talk about stuff every week. But this team does not need to make a big move. Their best players are all 26 and under there is no rush. Hele is 19, had a historically great season in the ahl, balled out in the nhl playoffs, and just had the golden goal in the world championships. I wouldn’t trade Hele for Larkin 1 for 1. Ostlund and Hele are untouchable

  13. Radio blowhards saying trade would be easy and Sabres would have to give up little…false on all accounts.
Yzerman’s not going to give up Larkin for anything less than a true hockey trade. Larkin is under contract for 5 more years at a great cap hit. Larkin may have leverage on where he gets traded to but he has 0 on if he will get traded. Request al you want doesn’t mean GM has to fulfill that. There is no upcoming UFA for Larkin to say I will walk for nothing. Want to sit out—enjoy never being traded in your prime years. Yzerman has out waited superstars that were better in Tampa. In fact it may be to Yzerman’s advantage as he can say I will only trade you if you agree to open your list to 12 teams give me a list and let those teams out bid each other.
Point 2) Detroit doesn’t want picks that might turn out in 5 years. They have Raymond and Seider in their prime (and under contract for 6 and 5 years respectively) and don’t want a repeat of this situation with them. They have 40 goal scorer DeBrincat in his walk year. They have years of developing draft picks that are graduating the AHL. They have 2 young former top 10 picks that will occupy that 2nd and 3rd line center positions. They need a 1C if they are trading theirs.
Point 3) Detroit has $29M in cap space now and will now need a 1C. They have young assets and vets that can help them go get the Robert Thomas, Nico Hischier, or other top of the market players. So the idea of it not raising prices for the others (Larkin now included) is idiotic.
Point 4) Larkin deserves some of the blame for the collapse every March. He always getting hurt. Now a cross check to the neck off a faceoff draw by Benn is not his fault, but the track record speaks for itself. And the talk of the team being soft and the captain choosing to leave when times are down may speak to the execs saying see I told you he was the issue.
