Lego – it’s a medal of freedom and gold medal you don’t need to be American to understand what it is , as a Winnipegger it’s this attitude that drives players out of this city and away from Canadian teams
Nothing stopping Larkin from going out there and barely skating till they put him in the press box! He would not be the first NHL player to do this! I think Steve deep down knows this!
Why dont all these Americans hockey stars call the Wambulance!
Yzermans an idiot if he lets Larkin go into camp, it'll be way to toxic for the room and players will question why they havent seen the assets for Larks yet.
If anyone thinks Larkin has leverage forgets that he has a contract to Detroit until he’s 35. Yzerman has all the leverage and people need to recall what he did with Drouin’s trade.
Regarding the Grind Line's tweet… Yes. That's exactly right. But we all know that. He held on to Drouin for 19 months when he asked for a trade from Tampa (Nov 2015 – June 2017). He will absolutely hold an asset until he gets what he wants. So, what Seravalli said there isn't news to anyone, he's just stating the obvious.
A Larkin for Hellebuyck trade makes no sense. Wings lose their 1st line center for an older player who is a goalie. That's a Ken Holland move if I ever saw one. The Wings problem is not in goal. The Wings are soft and lack identity. As much as I hate to say it, they need a Tkachuk type power forward. They need a punishing hard nose defenceman like a McNabb. The Wings have some promising young players but none of them fill the missing elements the Wings need as a team.
Prefect. They want 2nd line and 4th line center depth. Ok we trade Compher and Rasmussen and Gibson… we get Hellebuyck.
As an American, all the Olympic team players are really starting to annoy me. I understand wanting to move onto a new team when it’s clear you’re not going to compete for a cup. But the fact that every elite American on a Canadian hockey team is looking to jump ship is crazy and makes them look like babies. If it’s true that Helle is upset about not being honored by a Canadian team for a silly make-a-wish medal given to him by the president that’s been crapping on Canada since he got into office is the icing on the cake for how petty they all have been
I think Seravalli is stretching. Yzerman isn't saying anything . Other GM's claim he's playing it cool? Do we expect him to NOT be cold and calculated during a negotiation? Also, supposedly there are more teams now. That wouldn't go through Larkin, it would go through Pat Brisson.
I totally agree the disrespect Canada has shown to the American players in Canada have received and we dont blame them for wanting to leave the Canadian NHL market and come home to America where they will be respected and honored !!!
Also Larkin doesnt have to perform either if he doesn't get traded so they will be dead locked in Detriot
Larkin will not waive to go to a Canadian team
