  1. Haven't watched the video yet but if these predictions are delusional bs, I'll never forgive you

  2. That lineup, and those predictions, look pretty solid to me. I don't see any major holes that won't have been filled and I'd be reasonably confident starting the year with that lineup.

Thumbs up from me, for what that's worth.

  3. How about a trade w/ Buffalo. JP, Barrie, 3rd pick for Tuck. Then find a shutdown 2nd or 3rd pairing RD

  4. one of the only videos I have seen where the youtuber wants to keep 56. on a side note i still think the 94 jersey needs to be in copper and become the main home jersey. they also need to retire the number.

  5. I would rather Kadri You can move Ryan nuge anywhere on the wing, we could easily do the "Nuclear option" with McDavid and Leon and abuse with no drawbacks anytime you want

  6. Yeah I'd be ok with your proposed line up. we need a bit more toughness to compete against the heavier line ups. yet not be a bruiser type team. Speed, Talent and toughness should be a good happy medium next season

  7. I see it a little different based on what I saw the coach doing last year. My prediction is that the first line will be Kane-McDavid-Draisaitl, second line Janmark-RNH-Hyman, Holloway-McLeod, Yam-Ryan-Rodrigues. The reason came from the McD and Leon being obvious powerhouse line with Kane. Hyman and RNH worked very well together. The Oilers will be a much balanced scoring machine with this lineup.

  8. That 7th D spot (possibly even 6RD if they can move Barrie) may be getting a workout. Niemeläinen, Desharnais, Samorukov, Kesselring, and Kemp are all looking (though I am pretty sure at least 3 of those get most of another year with the Condors) and three of them are RD (with at least one of the other 2 able to switch hit). There has been a lot of buzz about Desharnais lately (wingspan etc.).

Yes Niems hits but would you rather have a hitter who has limited puck moving ability or a puck mover who can hit or otherwise get in the way of others? Samorukov is a defensive D man and the Oilers need that too.

My knowledge of Kemp and Kesselring is quite limited. I cannot offer specifics about their skills (they are 2 of my minimum 3 who stay AHL mostly (or entirely) for another year) and they're the younger ones in the list. Manson knows them quite well and I'm sure he's got ideas but he'll also look at camp and exhibition games before making suggestions (plus there may be Cap considerations where a pricier guy stays put.

The only one of the five who isn't waivers exempt is Samorukov. He's the most likely to stay with us as we could loose him. The rest can come and go as needed to handle injuries.

We'll see. Great breakdown. I think it really comes down to risk / reward. There is a lot of risk for Samorukov possibly being snatched for nothing if he's not there (aka zero reward) whereas the others, well. Oh, btw, Broberg is currently listed as Waivers Exempt. That may mean he is in the Bake longer while Samorukov is up. Things to think about.

    Take care all.

  9. I like the idea here. Yes, it sucks to lose Puljijarvi for basically nothing, but Rodriguez is a better player in the here and now.

  10. Good breakdown Patrick. I don't like the two to right wingers as you put them; I'd flip them. Otherwise I have no issues.

If I would to run my own line ups then I'd do it differently though.

    Kane – McD – Yammo
    Dylan/McLeod – Drain – Hyman
    Dylan/McLeod – RNH – Evans
    L4 Best of the rest

Dylan or McLeod are hard to pin down on which Line they suit best. All that'll matter is which one clicks with which center best. However McLeod needs more time on the wing I think and would do better learning from a veteran and then bounce down to center 4C/3C when injuries happen. Both Dylan and McLeod are able to drive the puck up the ice, which RNH can't and they'd be better at doing it with good passers.

I don't know how those two will do in training camp and that's the big question mark, because young players like McLeod often suck their second year. They put too much pressure on themselves, so McLeod could come out and suck this year. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen.

  11. That D doesn't beat the Avs this year again. We have to assume we will meet them again in the playoffs at some point. Russell is also gone as well so no shot blocker anymore. Can someone else step in for Keith? Aside from the upgrade to a younger goalie, seems like D is still lacking.

  12. I like signing Evan Rodrigues. Another Zach Hyman type player who is also from Toronto and has played with superstars. I'm happy with a 2yr 3.25aav contract for Yamo and I can work with a trade for Christian Fischer to get rid of Foegele. I still hope we can get rid of Barrie and get a top 4 shutdown D-man. Other than that I think we have ourselves a Stanley Cup Contender

  13. Keep up the good work…I sure appreciate the effort you put in and short concise to the point videos

  14. Not ideal but if your predictions are correct I see a pretty solid team. Of course the game is still played on the ice but this predicted lineup is the best we have seen in a long time. Keep the vids rolling and thanks for your efforts. I checked daily.

  15. On my own armchair mode, I did almost exactly the same, except I traded Puljujarvi, Fogle, and a pick for Frank Vatrano from the Ducks.
And I played Nuge as 3C and McLeod as 4c, and I had Devin Shore as the regular 4LW.

… but I think I like your solution better. Hahaha.

  16. I really appreciate these videos. They are very informative and help with knowing what is going on! Keep up the good work!

  17. The Oilers should trade jesse for josh Anderson Joel arima David savard and a 3rd round pick
