  1. Nhl 2023 should have RJ announcing. Man's a legend. As a long time buffalo native and sabres fan, we love you RJ. you are the buffalo sabres. Long live RJ

  2. The fact that everyone in the city was watching the game either at the arena or at home in tears thinking about his calls behind our favorite sabres memories just shows how much RJ and the sabres mean to our city and how much we love him. He's retiring, but when they do make the playoffs, he better be the first one on the call. RJ himself said he would not only be shocked but disappointed if they missed in 2023

  3. I never realized how much this man has impacted my life until I really thought about it after watching this and the highlights of his best calls

  4. Rick and Ted Darling were "the voices" God bless you Rick and your endless hours of great game calling – you will be greatly missed!!

  5. It was so great for the 2nd speaker to allow the crowd to just keep going. True admiration and a so well deserved tribute

  6. Wow, I teared up watching this, glad to have witnessed a very large chunk of your calls and career! It’s never going to be the same, just as Van Miller was to the Bills, you are to Buffalo and the Sabres! Thank you so very much for SO many great memories. Have fun, stay safe and healthy!

  7. I’m a habs fan and this made me cry he’s been such a big part of some of my favourite moments and made me like the Buffalo sabres even though there rivals thank you for all the memories I’ll never forget them

  8. Best there is, best there was, best there ever will be!
Thanks for the memories Rick, we will never forget your calls!

  9. Nothing to see here, just a 27 year old kid from Buffalo crying like a baby watching this. Cant tell you how many memories I have growing up watching my idols hearing your calls.

  10. I missed this on TV and just finally watched it now and omg it's so emotional but his speech was amazing! Didn't know this man was such a character! Bless you, RJ! Thank you for making hockey so fun!

  11. My entire childhood and life has been filled with this man's voice and memories he helped solidify forever. True legend, he became a figure in all sabres fans lives. Blessed to have had him

  12. Ranger fan but respect Jeanneret. Despite his histrionics he is a deeply humble man who never made the games about himself. Shame he never got to call a Stanley Cup winner.

  13. Rick Jeanneret is a treasure! Thank you Buffalo for sharing him with us all!

When my Wings wasn't playing my second option to watch was always the Buffalo Sabres thanks to this guy!

  14. I was a Sabres fan, and growing up with him this put me in tears, great memories. Thank you RJ. God Bless you

  15. RJ is to Buffalo hockey what Mike Reilly is to Ironman.
It just won’t be the same without his voice.

  16. Sobbing like a baby within the first 10 seconds. Kept crying. Excellent work. I am so sad I couldn't be there in person. Can't wait to be there his last game next week. Love you RJ. Love you to bits. You are my hockey fandom king.

  17. There's VERY few guys who do it for this long with one team, in any sport. RJ is right up there with Vin Scully and Bob Uecker, to name two. Thanks for being the voice I hear when I think of hockey.

  18. I'm not even from Buffalo and couldn't hold back some damn eye watering.
There will never be another RJ. His calls, distinct booming voice, extreme passion for hockey and for the team, that red face of his when he gets going are all unparalleled. Add to that him being a good guy. How can anyone not love him! Hell, he made me and my kids Sabers fans all by himself.
Much love to you MR. Jeanneret! You're loved by so many people, enjoy your glory. You've earned it so many times over.

RJ has always been and will always be top shelf! Way beyond where mama hides the cookies.
Best wishes to you and your cupcake, always.

  19. That highlight reel gave me goosebumps and I'm a die hard sens fan. Congrats on retirement and a great broadcast career.

  20. Besides Emrik, this man stands alone. even though his team was "meh" this man, this man stands alone as the greatest, THE GREATEST organization affiliated announcer of all time.

  21. Growing up watching the sabres, I can tell you one thing that I always looked forward to. Was ricks voice combined with the goal horn. It’s almost as if his call was the goal.. I’ll never forget the feeling we all remember.. love you rj

  22. RJ! One Of The Great’s, Along with the Late Great Dan Kelly! Let’s go Sabers!!!! Let’s go Blues!!!! Let’s Go Sabers!!!! Let’s Go Blues!!!! RJ RJ RJ!!!!!!!!
