I love the outsider view point of “watch how much the Habs love themselves for 2h” and as a Habs fan, I love those ceremonies, I was at the game today and it was really cool and fun. It’s not even my first Habs home opener, but it doesn’t even get old… anyway, all good fun, great post game guys (but fix the audio quality lmao)

I hate being a Leaf fan. 50 years and I’ve got nothing from my loyalty. My criticism is of all them… it is bewildering how a young team with some no names showed more aggression and enthusiasm.

It seems like they're intimidated by that Habs jersey now. Even last year, they barely beat the Habs during the season.
Also, I'm sick of Dubas' small players. I would move Engvall up with Nylander and Tavares. Move Kampf line up as third line.
Play Kerfoot and Jarnkrok as the 4th line for speed and kill penalties.

First goal is an ill advised pass with 4 in deep by Marner (No 2nd Goal) Rielly …. Can't he skate backwards and reach his stick into the shooting motion? 44 put your stick on the shot from 22 on the 3 on 2 and the puck does not go in the net. why he doesn't have his stick in the shooting path is just ridiculous, It's just gap control. (No 3rd goal) Reilly / Kampf / Envall in the corner with Dach and Dach gets the puck out ? for a shot from the point? How do you lose a 3 v 1 battle?? & What is Jarnkrok looking at? just keep the player in front of you and the puck is in the corner not the net.

Muzzin tossing the puck blindly with 10 seconds left into the high slot instead of the corner or even just a 5 foot pass to 91 is just simply 8 not engaged yet mentality. He's not stupid, he knows where the safe play is. First place disappears with mental mistakes like this. 44 and 8 could have won this game with just simple plays that they can do, but aren't engaged yet. It was a veteran loss, but 34 & 16 should be pushing this to a 5-3 late third period lead, instead 1 assist between the 2 of 'em. Season has started boys 44 / 8 / 34 /16 you should be able to go undefeated in October and potentially only lose 2-4 by the end of november.
