Wish him the best. He had his ups and downs, but when he found his game he was pretty good imo.
They need to fight like hell to get a goalie.
I feel guilty with Keith retiring. Wish him the best in retirement. We do have 15m dollars to work with though. I'm happy with either Campbell or Kuemper, as long as they're under 6m. Edmonton should NOT target Murray. We'll have to give up even more for a 4m dollar, declining goalie. I still hope Barrie gets moved for a shutdown D-man and I hope we can sign Mikheyev and trade for Connor Brown. Hopefully we can also bring back Kane. I think either Deslauriers or Gudbranson will do. Big and tough, get them for 1.2m. Pls resign Kulak and make that Ceci-Kulak 2nd pairing come true 🙏

Love the new found cap space but my fear is Holland both overpays and gives too much term to both Kane and a goalie giving us zero cap flexibility after Yammo. JP and McLeod are signed, we still need a second pair LD and bottom 6th depth, looks like a lot of cap space but probably still not enough to fill every hole
I absolutely believe his presence played a role in this postseason run; not necessarily on the ice, but his experience in the locker room. That said, glad to see him riding off into the sunset. Thanks, Duncy, next stop…HOF.
Keith actually retiring kinda surprised me, to be honest. I figured he'd hang around for that extra year.
I'm starting to get a sinking feeling that our goalie search is over before it even begins because there are only a handful of guys left who are worth bothering with. They're all getting snapped up quickly because GMs are being aggressive.
Yzerman trading a pick for Husso's rights before he hit the market shows what a GM who's willing to be bold looks like. I'm not saying Husso will be a star but Yzerman clearly saw something he liked and made his move early before anyone else could.
The more I think about it, the more I think the Leafs will end up keeping Campbell. When you think about it, what choice do they have? If they let him walk, what do they do then? They're in the same boat as us. A promising prospect (Kalgren) and that's it. Unless they can hook Kuemper, if they lose Campbell, they're screwed!
I predict Kuemper goes to Washington (or Toronto), Holtby to Chicago while Murray likely ends up in Seattle or Arizona along with a few picks as sweeteners to take him off the Sens' hands. Both teams have lots of cap space, need a 2nd goalie and won't be competing for a playoff spot.
So where does that leave us? Probably on the outside looking in again. With Vanacek landing in Jersey, maybe Bernier could be pried loose from them…. if he's even worth the effort. Other than that, there's a whole bus load of nobodies.

I wouldn't sign Murray for 4m We would be better off getting Holtby or Gibson for that amount. I'm still hoping for Kuemper at 6.75M x4 or 6M x5. I have a feeling Campbell is being a tad greedy after last season performance. his save percentage was ok but his GAA was .10 higher than Kuemper.
Although Kemper was 4.5M last season compared to Campbell's 1.8M So I'd say an offer of 4Mx5 yr would be a decent offer. He did only play half the amount of games that Kuemper did as well.

Kulak was good for Edmonton but would Josh Manson be a good fit with his dad as the defensive coach.
We need to still sign:
Kane. Possibly 7 million
Yamamoto. Pos. 3 million
Kulak. Pos. 2.5 million
McLeod. Pos. 1 million
Russell *. Pos. 1 million
I'm not sure Russell is coming back.
We also need a second goalie so spending 5 or 6 million on Campbell is gonna be hard.
Can we finally win a transaction with Puljujärvi?
And finally Tyson Barrie?
If we take Murray for ANY price, its a failed off season.

I believe Smith and Skinner can handle the load, but they should get maybe Kinkaid or Halak, someone on the cheaper side and use the cap cash to sign Kane and toughen up our defence. I believe our defence will improve immensely under Woodcroft and Manson.

Keith was our only defenceman who has elite passing skills!! I'm happy at the cap relief but I'm disappointed to lose a real nhl D man!!
I would like to see jesse Pullijarvi Tylor Benson and samarukov traded in a package to Philly in a 3 way deal for a goalie or prospects. Hopefully holland does some magic and gets us a decent play that won't cost in us in the long run ☺️

I still see both Barrie and the Bison King gone . Need some toughness at a cheaper price to replace Kass so Grubranson and DeLaurie would be nice if they can be signed.
The Oilers need to fight to get the offsetting salary cap recapture credit. They've always just taken it up the wazoo with draft pick penalties for Chiarelli and McLellan, plus the "James Neal only scored 19 but we'll count it as 20" draft pick sent to Calgary.
There's no reason that the NHLPA won't support this since a couple of million dollars should have been made available to be paid to players under the Salary Cap, yet Bettman wants to eliminate that?
Murray is a big risk with a high cap hit…Kuemper and Campbell are probably the best options…although their injury trouble sucks.
Now if only we can dump kleffs contract. I'm much more optimistic about kanes return now.

Deslauriers would be a good replacement for Kassian as long as he doesn't get a too big contract.

This just kills me ! The Oilers didn't get a goalie like Husso that is one of the top goalie. Now is going to be 10 time harder to get a goalie. How it is looking the Oilers will not get in the playoffs ! Ken Holland drop the ball as a GM ! I'm going to be very disappointed this year with the Oilers goalie problem 💯🇨🇦

When it comes to Jesse The NHL teams have seen how bad of a player he is and how long the Oilers tried to get him better and it didn't pan out! pay him out or tell him go back home to play in that market.
