They have known he wants to be traded for nearly 3 years…

  2. jakeandbake26

Nah, he put his time in on a bad team for years. Can’t blame him for saying he’s had enough of being shelled

  3. draynay

Yeah he screwed them over, how are they gonna manage 58 points without him?

  4. missiongoalie35

Screw over his team? The guy has been trying to carry the Ducks lifeless corpse for the last nine years.

  5. BubbaSpanks

Good for him!!! Hope he gets out

  6. Half_moon_die

The jersey was the last straw. They played themself.

  7. GrizzlyIsland22

They’re the ones who screwed him by not trading Jim years ago. Forcing such a talented goalie to stay in that shitty situation for so long is just cruel.

  8. Different_Cod_1394

No if you don’t like them you don’t have to play for them.

  9. UrsusAlakar

Where’s his likely landing spot ?

  10. Mikey_5386

If they hadn’t just resigned Jarry id say come home to Whitehall.

  11. Nunspogodick

I mean…he’s only set records for saves and shots against. Anaheim hasn’t been a defensive team in a while. He’s tired!

  12. Unique-Statement-609

5 years ago this should’ve happened. What a waste of a great goalie

  13. Lucifers_Goldfish

    “Screw over his team”?

He’s been screwed by his team for years. It’s amazing that his career stats are still respectable playing behind this clown car of a team; 2.89GAA and .917 S% should fetch him a good amount of interest from other teams. I’d think he’d have to take a bridge deal with cap strapped teams though.

  14. He’s the best goalie I’ve ever seen

  15. MarketingOwn3547

I’m just surprised it’s taken this long… Guy must have an iron back, carrying this team for as long as he has.

  16. FellSorcerer

It’s hard to screw over a team when (even with him) they’re going to lose the vast majority of their games.

  17. JonTheWizard

Why did the Ducks screw Gibson over for years, that’s the real question.

  18. oogaboogaman33

Oh no now the ducks will be bad

  19. Survious

Wouldn’t mind him in a Leafs uniform.

  20. MichealangeloRetardo

No they’re a dumpster fire they’ll be just as bad without him

  21. Hutch25

They should have known it was coming. You can only make 50+ saves a few times and still lose before you are just done.

Edmonton or Seattle should jump on this opportunity immediately

  22. pangaea1972

He would have given himself way more options if he didn’t wait until the wheeling-and-dealing weekend was over to demand a trade.

  23. wigglerworm

He’s the only good part about the team this past year. The fact that they missed out on Bedard too, Anaheim is going to be a shell of the lifeless corpse they were last year. As an Anaheim fan it stings but I can’t blame him.

  24. lottolser

I suppose he really wanted Fantilli over Carlsson

  25. joeflaccoelite

Gets exhausting having to make 35+ saves every game and lose

  26. isntThisReal

Dubas better be picking up that phone

  27. cmearls

This dude has stood on his head and has put up with atrocious defense for years. Gets machine gunned every game

  28. LumbaJ4cked

They have been wasting his elite caliber for years so hopefully we will see this guy play some playoff hockey soon!

  29. Gold-Stomach-4657

People are saying Gibson to Toronto. I feel like this might more aptly indicate Murray to Anaheim :p I sure hope so

  30. Any ideas what teams could take on his salary?

Edit: could the oilers make the trade and send them Campbell and a combination of high picks and prospects?

  31. Shiny_Mew76

If they trade him for another elite goalie, then not really. However it’s unlikely they’ll get an elite goalie in return for someone who is demanding a trade.

  32. blurplerain

Desperate times call for desperate measures. He’s been patient and this isn’t a primadonna move imo.

  33. danifromyara52

Toronto would be sweet and as a Wings fan I would root for them.

  34. United_Grapefruit_

I guess ducks don’t fly together. Thanks coach Bombay.

  35. EntertainingTuesday

It would be awesome to see what he could do with a winning team.

  36. catharsis69

Win as a team. Loose as a team. All these guys represent their contacts in the end. I love love hockey as a sport so don’t rain on me. Each team goes through the cycle. Be apart of the rebuild

  37. Conscious_Big815

Me playing goalie for my mens league team.
    smh

  38. kungfluthotslayer

Watch gibson go to a better team and become a vezina candidate

  39. Anonymous__9

Gibson deserves the world. Performed out of his skin in a shocking side that never provided him cover. He’s arguably underrated by many due to bad numbers. Put him in a decent team and you will see how good he can be ok a regular basis. He deserves a chance at the trophy!

  40. itsmnemotime

About 2 days too late, Pens already signed their goalie
