1. can say as someone who has been to live games and seen the difference between my live NHL and where the broadcast is on discord, usually live is a good 30-45 seconds ahead. I don't think he knew because I imagine he was focused on just getting the team ahead coming out of that Tv time out.

  2. Bullshit – Tortorella is vindictive as hell. He's a grade A asshole. Great NHL coach but huge asshole.

  3. No, he did not screw anyone. He was trying to get his team in. How would he know that the Wings were not going to lose and be eliminated anyway since there were only a few seconds left in their game when they tied it up. If the Red Wings were up two goals in the 3rd period then he would have heard and figured there was no chance anyway so it is Detroit's fault that Philly was even pulling their goalie. As for the Pens they should not have lost to the Bruins earlier.

  4. Tortorella: I didn't know when I pulled the Goalie
    Jesse: I assume he knew

Information doesn't travel instantaneously. There are delays. Even if just a minute that was all it took.

  5. Really? Are you an idiot? Regardless of standings, teams play to win. Players play to win. Period! Have you never played a game bro? When you’re playing, you play to win.

  6. I want to believe Torts knew. Good for him. That's what eliminated teams are supposed to do, screw with the results. We cheer for that year after year, this just happened to be a unique situation.

  7. On the highlight of caps v flyers, you can see flyers goalie in the net around 3:15, flyers break in, announcers says net empty, then caps break out and score around that 3min mark.

  8. The Flyers iced the puck with 4:02 remaining. During that brief stoppage, the Flyers broadcast informed their viewers the Red Wings scored. Ersson was pulled at 3:10 remaining, and the goal was scored with 3:00 remaining. They only had the extra skater for 10 seconds. There was at least 1 minute and 20 seconds of real time in between the broadcast notifying the viewers and the goalie being pulled. I would say probably an extra 10 seconds between the Red Wings scoring and the Flyers broadcast mentioning it.

In my opinion, Torts should have been told in at most a minute, and evidently he wasn't told for around 1 minute and 45 seconds. Maybe the video guy was waiting for the game to go to overtime and not informing him that they tied it with 3 seconds left?

  9. As a big sad Wings fan… no he didn’t screw us. The flyers did what they needed to do and I doubt he knew the Wings took it to OT. Sucks

  10. lol i dont think it had much to do with Wings, if Torts was screwing over anyone it was Pitt.

Aka the Flyers Pennsylvania Rival 😅
