I've been a leafs fan forever. Unfortunately after last year I decided to take a year off and have not watched a single game this year. I've kept track through scores and this channel only. I love my leafs but very frustrating. Also Marchand shouldn't even be in the league.
Man I love your channel but leaf fans can't be mad at the Marchand/ bertuzzi ice tilt. The domi/ swayman thing didn't get called and bertuzzi was called out during intermission for kinda diving a bit. Plus leafs went 0-5 on the pp like you said. While bruins went 2 for 3. They got out played and leaf fans look for anything to complain about

As someone with no horse in this race….this series is checking all the boxes so far. Have a feeling this one is going 6 mininum likely 7 though. Both fan bases thinking the refs are "the worst they have ever seen" EVERY game for BOTH sides is really great though, i swear these two fan bases are the most passionate and toxic combined. Many fireworks to come.

It not just this game man, I've watched through most of the NHL playoff games so far and it has been horrible officiating and terrible missed calls every game. It's crazy how much unanswered for penalities slipped through this playoffs.
Just gotta LOVE ALL THE CRYBABIES WHINING EVEN THOUGH THE LEAFS HAD 5 GODDAMN POWER PLAYS AND WENT 0-5!!! There’s literally ALWAYS EXCUSES being made for why they always lose to the B’s and it’s to the point where we all know after the leafs lose we’re going to hear “oh, the refs cost us the game” or “Marchand breathed on someone the wrong way because he’s a dirty POS” or “our V*g*na’s hurt, and we ran out of tampons”……..it’s EXPECTED BUT IT DOESN’T MAKE IT ANY LESS PATHETIC TO THE REST OF US!!!

i think that one of the problems with the current NHL playoff environment is that while players understand that the reffing will be much more lax and they can get away with greasy maneuvers, there is a ton of inconsistency in penalty calling. Obviously it is impossible for refs to catch everything or to be perfectly consistent, but despite that I imagine it is difficult for players to gauge how they should behave when (for example) McAvoy basically tackling Matthews doesn't draw a penalty but both teams have gotten penalties for less.

It would be nice to have the leafs lose and not always have this horrific officiating controversary. I would like to just say, Sammy shoulda had the first one and leafs needed to convert on the PP. But then the blatant ass missed calls fucking ruin it everytime. Like those are ATROCIOUS and BLATANT. Tavares gets his stick held at the end and gets the penalty and then Marchand interferes with bertuzzi at the end which leads directly to the empty net goal. Leafs could have won this easily, but they choked. And the refs just helped out the bruins

Of course the Leafs fans are furious. They could litterally get 10 pp's in a game and have 1 penalty called against them all game and they would be getting the screw job from the officials. That is just the way Leafs fans are. It is always the officials fault and never for the most part at least the team itself.
Im not against the refs putting the whistle away. Just don't change up halfway through the game and start calling what wasn't called the period before. Be consisitent…either let them play or make the calls don't flip flop mid game.

The only way this series goes 7 is if the goaltending improves, the PP improves, or if the refs just want it to go 7 because clearly they have all the power. Bruins and Leafs fans both are rightfully livid about the officiating of that game. Unacceptable. Honestly if the officiating had been consistent (whether consistently harsher or consistently more lax) the game likely would have been completely different (and before people say "cope", I still think the Leafs would have lost. Maybe by more to be honest, because they suck at PK and their PP is just wasting time, they only score 5 on 5)
