Holland chose not to address the goaltending situation, and now the Oilers are facing the consequences.
I saw this coming from a mile away. When Campbell stepped in last playoffs and did solid, they shoulda gone with him the rest of the way. You're paying the man 5 mil and he's finally showing you good stuff in the playoffs. The fact that they didn't probably ruined whatever confidence Campbell had left. Skinner was an undeniable part of why they lost that VGK series. Holland shoulda gotten someone better than Picard in the offseason. Skinner and some respectable veteran goalie shoulda been fighting down the stretch to start in the playoffs. I don't think they'll ever turn to Picard. They're gonna win or lose with Skinner and I think the losing will be the 2nd or 3rd round. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

“Skinner sucks” is the best excuse for oilers fans if they lose the series. (Let’s not forget LA pushing game 7 in 2022 without doughty and Arvidsson, and then last year missing fiala and vilardi for half the series)
Im very concerned, maybe an overreaction, but a vast majority of the play-off teams have elite goalies and the Oilers do not. Noticeable to me, his side to side movement is way too slow, and thats comparing him to Mike Smith. Again comparing to Smith but Smith looked more fluid and loose, Skinner looks tense and almost robotic where all his motion is stiff/linear.

Sadly that's the true oilers. Since the winning streak ended it's been good game, bad game, good game, bad game with no consistency. In my opinion the coach is to soft. Should have addressed this inconsistency long ago. He keep making excuses for them when they would lose to shit teams like Anaheim. The true team showed up against Vancouver when they had first place gifted to them with a win. But they shit the bed.
Pickard is solid Skinner needs to sit out for awhile he let's in wayyy to many easy goals through the five hole

Hahaha. These guys are oblivious. Talbot allowed so many bad goals last night. Holloways goals should both have been stopped. They were both shots from the outside home plate area. Kulaks goal was no screen from a distance. Kings should start Rittich game 3. Talbot looks so uncomfortable. I don’t know what the Oilers do here with skinner. Both of these goalies are terrible right now.

Skinner never been that great to begin with, but letting in this many against the Kings is pretty bad.

I think oilers fans forget if it wasn’t for the play of Skinner and going on that insane 16 game win streak, we wouldn’t be in the playoffs. He’s a good solid goalie, he’ll be better next game.

He hasn’t been great but I don’t think he’s lost them a game yet. Their D needs to be better. This is the same crap that happened in the regular season, the D play crappy and all the finger pointing is on the goalie. Remember we were going to give a fortune for Allen and then what happened? The D got their heads outta their butts and the goaltending magically improved at the same time? No, Skinner won’t ever admit it because he’s a stand up guy, but his D are not doing the things he expects them to do, leaving him looking silly.

Skinner is a great guy but he just isn’t a great goalie. He’s going to be the downfall of the team this year. Hard to comprehend why oilers management hasn’t addressed the elephant in the room that is the goalie problem we have had for years.
