They’ve been tied to Ottawa Senators defenceman Jakob Chychrun, though the cost to acquire and extend the player looms. The Flyers want to keep enough money available long term to extend Drysdale and Cam York in several years’ time. I do think a defenceman similar to Buffalo’s Mattias Samuelsson (age, style and contractual wise) is what the Flyers want.

If they want to give us their best prospect and a 1st round pick maybe.
I’m not dying to trade Samuelsson but he shouldn’t be off the table. He has a nice skillset to have but that’s a lot easier to find in a 3rd pairing role than guys like Dahlin / power / byram are. His contract is no sort of steal, more like fair if anything and his injury issues are concerning.
The Couturier part was a lot more interesting to me. If he wants out and they’d be willing to retain salary then that sounds like a fantastic 3C option. Low risk / high reward, as him at his best is one of the best 2-way players in the league and a great veteran leader, and if he struggles then it’s probably because of his back and he’s probably LTIRetiring.

Doesn’t every team want a young, big, and physical defenseman with a relatively decent contract?
I’d be highly interested in Konecny if he doesn’t want to resign in Philly. I’d trade #11 for him. He’d look great setting Tage up and he’s only going into his age 28 season.
Time to bring back big Z!
Listen to all trade offers at all times. I personally love Mattias; however, his injury history concerns me for the future.
You’d have to pay me a first to put Scott Laughton on this team and even then it would be debatable
Philly’s an interesting team though as a trade partner. Konecny doesn’t have any sort of trade protection and is cheap for another year, would be a great rental option to replace what Skinner gave us on the top line
Morgan Frost would also be an interesting target, good for 40-50 points with + defensive impact, could fit well on our third line
Trading Samuelsson would be a colossal mistake
